Georgia was 6-2 Texas was 7-1 in conference, if we were tied Georgia would have won the regular season. However we were not thus Texas won the regular season. However in football I agree the conference title game carries more weight.
Fact remains Georgia was the better team last year and while Texas certainly had their chances (cant give up an 80 yard TD at the end of the half, fumble the ball away in critical moments, etc.) Georgia beat us twice so I definitely give y'all the nod.

Congrats to Texas. You guys came in and did very well. But most posts I saw taking shots at Texas was saying football was going to beat you down. It did not, so congratulations for that. The other posts mainly said complimentary things about baseball, saying that Texas would make the SEC even stronger than before, which is correct. The SEC is very strong in baseball and you came in and won it. You proved yourself to be everything you said you were in baseball.

We were promised that were no easy schedules. The SEC is a weekly grind...what you didn't mention was that it only applied when we didn't win many games.
I've created a flow chart to make this more clear for us Horn fans since we get so many mixed signals.

It’s very impressive. With Schloss and NIL Texas will be in Omaha regularly and will win a title most likely.
But to come in year 1 and make the SEC look like nothing special is damn impressive because it is. Congrats.

I was just stating a fact, Texas was the first place team in football before the title game. I didnt say it was what matters nor take anything away from Georgia, UGA beat Texas twice and once at our house so no dispute your SEC football championship.
I was just pointing out why is it a thing on other sports but not football? Makes no sense. I am not champion Texas won the SEC in football, already gave Georgia props.
Only reason that makes sense is the other post season is a multi-team tournament but again every other sport cares about the regular season winner, which is a fact.
Appreciate your take on Texas, we did what we thought we would in football (compete for a conference title) and in baseball we accomplished more than we thought given the turnover on staff and players and much more difficult conference.
Looking forward to many more years in this conference.

Dude I just stated a fact, take it for whatever you want. No one in Austin is printing shirts we won the SEC or any bs like that in football.
