Good to hear. I've got multiple sip grad buddies that the Ëyes controversy is the last straw for them. Seeing the game last year with Sam standing by himself singing really galvanized some folks.
The "2 bands" compromise was a bad move though. You compromise with leftists and they only see it as weakness as they go for more. Their goal is to destroy your culture completely and start over, not to have rational discussion.
As much as I freaking hate the sips I hope this becomes a turning point to move the needle back the other way to just weird liberal instead of crazy leftist.
Its been a tough few years. I kept trying to explain that these arent your typical college liberal types and they really do mean us harm. Them going after The Eyes is one of the best things that has happened to us, because it served as a massive wake up call. Now we are setting up a way for the average alum like me to be able to donate to an entity that is going to work to fight the Marxists. The move to the SEC is no coincidence, because the people that are now in charge are football loving beer drinking businessman who view the SEC as the premier conference in the country.

You must have graduated before Hopwood. When I was at A&M, your school took a HARD left turn (1996-2000).
Edit: Hopwood, not Hopgood. Hopgood was the Commandant of Cadets at A&M who was the individual most responsible for the Corps Block seating that the three commandants before him refused to endorse.

The problem is that typical college liberal types aren't liberal anymore, not really. Liberalism, in the ideological sense, is about a state that is slow to enforce some preferred idea of what is good, and instead shows tolerance to those with competing worldviews.
Leftists AREN'T LIBERAL anymore. They are the priests of the new civic religion, and they want to use the full weight of state coercive power to enforce their own values.
Just this week leftists pressured a guy who was the CEO of a company he started out of his job, through pressure applied to the board. His sin? He tweeted support for the Texas abortion law. That's not liberalism. That's heavy handed enforcement of a civic religion.

I apologize to the country on behalf of the liberal woke pieces of trash that walk the campus. Years of California transplants millennium douchebags who were given a trophy for everything have birthed a future of collective white guilt assholes who rather sit in a dildo than face common sense. Most of these douchebags have parents that frequent the cloak room on surely crying about trump.

It's not the lyrics, rather that the song was
a favorite in blackface minstrel shows performed
at TUa and other places.
Well if gender benders in a solid blue state can accept a liberal governor who posed for a photo in black face beside a guy in a Klan robe, the gender confused retards in Austin can live with this song...

Easy fix...change one word....and it'll appease the progressive libs, too!
"The Eyes of Taxes"
The eyes of taxes are upon you,
All the live long day.
The eyes of taxes are upon you,
You cannot get away.
Do not think you can escape them,
At night, or early in the morn.
The eyes of taxes are upon you,
'Till Gabriel blows his horn!

Supposedly lyrics from the song were inspired by confederate generals. When the song was first sung before a crowd, it was done in black face.

This should go well with the money folk.
What would you expect? This is the beginning. Whenever they get to the SEC whether 2025 or 2022 there will be a football story and the SJW and woke story every week. And the students and alumni will be torn between the two.

if tsips had any balls, they’d take the yahoos that filed that out behind a woodshed and let them have the “full university experience” they are craving! :)

It isn't. Just a stint by a bunch of edgy kids wanting to feel relevant.
About 70% of the student population. You know, they need to change the world.

1. Texas is not yet in the SEC
2. This has nothing to do with sports
3. We have a Poliboard.
Trifecta fail.
1. Texas has been accepted into the SEC in spite of many of us not wanting them. The reality is news from Texas or OU though is relevant for tRant now.
2. The Eyes is the alma mater at Texas and the controversy started because it is played at football games. It's really the only time it matters because the band doesn't exactly go around campus playing the Alma Mater. Bands and school songs are definitely related to sports.
3. K. Agree this could be a relevant topic there as well but it is something a lot of folks here who love football and traditions at schools have interest in.
