Got the worse loss. If Texas only had two losses, one would still be to a 4-8 UF team.
FSU just said to say hi to Alabama. The same FSU that just got drubbed by Florida.

Not to mention, we’ll get that early loss to OSU again next season as well.
It might take Texas canceling the game(s) to get our Disney boss to actually change the process. They won’t like missing out on 10+ million viewers..
If beating a scrub holds the same weight as beating a Top 10 team, why play the game if it can only hurt you?

There is quite literally no advantage to playing these big OOC games for the winning team, and there is huge downside for the losing team.
This isn’t aimed at you - just responding with my thoughts.
This is why football continues to go downhill for me. First it was the tv money and turning an amateur sport into a professional sport, conference realignment is causing teams to be left behind for dead, and now teams want less competitive schedules to create an easier path to the playoffs. Bowl games outside of the playoffs basically suck now because of opt outs.
The capitalization of football and everything around it is not good for the sport.

I don’t think we will in future schedules, but I don’t know how we would get out of this one

yep. if there's one thing that just kills a t-sip, it's for the college football world to continue on without them and nobody gives a frick.
and THAT'S where we are.
next page, please...

I hope we play the game(s), but I hope they fix the way they are judged going forward.
They “supposedly” don’t penalize a team for losing CCG’s, so why should these games be any different?
Come up with a simple point system.
1 pt per win
1 pt bonus for a top 30 win
1 pt bonus for a top 10 win
so a win vs a Top 10 team = 3 pts
or something like that.. then the OOC games have real value.. then CCG’s have real value.. then a harder conference schedule has real value
Add up your points and rank the teams.
Beat 12 creampuffs
that’s 12-0 but only 12 points
Play 8 Top 30 games and win 6
Play 4 Top 10 games and win 2
that’s 8-4 but 18 points
I may explore this idea some tomorrow and see how it plays out this year and in the past.

So, basically Texas’s last year schedule?
Last years Texas would be 12-0 with A&Ms schedule this year.

@ND, @Mizzou, @LSU
What has Sark done on the road in SEC to give you confidence he goes 3-0 in those games?
Best road win would be against an unranked A&M team by 10 points. Every other road game has been a loss or near loss to a bad team.

Then achieve something...you have more money than any other school, a huge state to recruit top talent, a great town to recruit to and top notch facilities ..why do you constantly fall on your face?
Why do you have 1 national championship 20 years ago ?! LSU has 3 with 2 very average coaches...Texas is the most underperforming program along with the USC Trojans..your not back...not even close..your barely a top 25 team

Texas Texas Texas
The playoff has 7 at large bids. You are 6th in the SEC standings and also behind Vandy in the playoff pecking order. Yet you beg to be in the playoff. Never change crybabies.
What’s even funnier, Texas Tech just did what Texas did two years ago in the Big 12. Kind of makes what Texas did two years ago much less impressive. Are you having buyers remorse watching Tech do this while you sit in the middle of the SEC?

Are you? You’d have to be 50 to have seen and appreciate A&M doing something like that.

Umm…A&M’s had two 1- loss seasons in the 5 years while in the SEC.

Don't you have to be able to beat everyone to win the national championship. So they lost to OSU first game. Probably would have happened in the playoffs.

If we hadn’t played Ohio State and had beat Rice instead, we’d still be #8. Losing to OSU however keeps us out of the playoffs..
These matchups are great for both the schools and the fans. As I mentioned earlier, I hope we still play each other next year, with Texas hosting Ohio State, you’ll have the home-field advantage! Games like these are great for college football. After we play you next year, we have a home-and-home series with Alabama, followed by another with Georgia.
