but they and A&M should get back together.
Never. Don’t want anything to do with them ever again. Want their dwindling season ticket holders to continue suffering awful home schedules like this.
2020:
USF
UTEP
West Virginia
Baylor
TCU
Iowa State

Going 13-0 isn’t stumbling into a natty, but if it is, then you just described Auburn.

Guess no one should tell him we're playing them in 2021

Wow! Texas has been irrelevant for decades with the exception of the one national title they stumbled into during my lifetime. They haven’t been relevant since Darrell Royal rolled out the wishbone offense. I would think modern blue bloods like LSU, Clemson, or Ohio State would prefer to play someone like Washington or Oklahoma ...not Tex
Well, Texas was the winningest power 5 school in the first decade of this century, 2000-2009. That counts for nothing?
For the record, too many Texas fans cling to 2005 as if it were a game played 15 days ago, and not 15 years. That said, they have at least been relevant some years since 1976

too bad. i really enjoyed the thanksgiving night games with atm vs ut.
I personally wish Del Conte didn't say that, because I too miss the game a lot. It was a fun tradition that my family and I looked forward to every thanksgiving at the end of a college football regular season that we almost always watched feverishly from games 1-11 up to game 12.
Both schools have wayyyyyyy too much ego and self-importance blinding them to get the football game scheduled. That doesn't exist in other areas, which is why baseball, basketball (men's and women's), volleyball, etc. have all had no problem rekindling the game. I also understand that those sports are not football, and never will be at Texas or A&M, but that's the fact of the matter.
Also, the "they need us" argument from either side is beyond laughable. I've never known athletic programs with hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue, each of which that sport top 10 numbers in football fan attendance each year, as "needing" another team.

I don't think Bama has any interest in playing Georgia Tech.
Alabama scheduled a home-and-home with them a few months ago. 2030 in Atlanta and 2031 in Tuscaloosa.

We would make a fantastic homecoming game for someone.

Chris Del Conte on returning rivalries with either Texas A&M, LSU or Arkansas: Our goal is to play non-conference teams that have won championships in the modern era of College Football.
Funny, Arkansas thinks the same thing about playing non conference games with nobodies like Texas as well.
What do they consider modern era? I wouldn't consider 2005 modern era.
We also play Texas in 2021 so this whole thing is irrelevant. lol
Let's remember the last time Texas played Arkansas "in the modern era"

Texas is too scared to play Arkansas. Sad.
Even AM and loser Jimbo are brave enough to play Arkansas.

Are these aggys dressed as maroon seats?
Seems like a good place for cannon target practice...
My goodness...
Yikes...
45 minutes before kickoff? (The one you posted was more than 30 minutes before kickoff in Austin, the band wasn’t on the field yet... look at the drum). Gotta pump those numbers up!

Good.
If I never hear this subject again, it’ll be too soon.
Both programs’ ADs need to shut up about it.

That’s such a better looking stadium than the dump in Austin.
How are you still using high school stadium light poles?

Well we’re 3-2 against Texas since we left the SWC so I can see why they wouldn’t want to play us regularly again.

Singing the state song, Texas, Our Texas (according to the Jumbotron) in this pic.
That’s a good half-hour prior to kickoff.
You need to move along, Randolph.
Honestly, the shtick is done.
