Per 24/7 Texas paid site. He’s a preseason all sec and Doak Walker watch list. Freshman All American last year.

Went down in practice with a knee injury and all they are saying is awaiting MRI results, which almost always means ACL.

Those high end trainers know by doing three quick tests if he’s done or not. They would have announced if it was a sprain or dislocation

I hate to see any kid be done for the year like that. Huge blow to the Longhorns offense

It gives them an excuse when they don't win the SEC.

What would Mizzou say if Burden never played a down this year?

Not so much. Texas put 2 running backs in the NFL each of the last two years. The RB room is stacked.

If Baxter is out then reload with Blue. He is faster too.

I don't believe there are a lot of Mizzou fans on here proclaiming ourselves as the SEC Champions, unlike texas fans.

See the difference?

You haven't won a conference championship in more than 50 years

The two biggest “Texas” fans here are trolls. The 24/7 site for Texas is saying 9-3/10-2 is realistic and think they split these 4 games

Michigan
OU
UGA
A&M

I don’t see anywhere on there where they think they are better than UGA and know they are young and lost a lot on D

Fandom is funny

"Our Doak Walker watch list, 5 star RB just tore his ACL....but it's ok, the backup is better!"

Texas has done a number on the psyche of Missouri fans, despite only spending a mere 16 years in the same conference together.

It's really strange. I don't know what beef they could possibly have. In fact, they should be thanking us for their membership in the SEC.

Blue is fast . . . he is also a bit of a wildcard. He looked good against Washington and Tech for sure. After him you have some PWOs and a true freshman.

So not quite the easy reload scenario you hope for.

Mizzou fans are the worst. Haven’t done shite since the 70s.

They will go 8-4 this year. OU will blow them out IMO

Thought we already had that with the "Texas isn't SEC ready" line.

Football truth: RB depth never ever becomes in issue when you lose your starter before the season.

If they’re going to beat UGA it’ll be playing with the downfield passing game like Bama did a few years ago with when they were outmatched overall but torched them with Bryce Young, Jameson Williams and John Metchie vertically before both the receivers went down in the title game.

UGA will have an outstanding defensive front this year, but you beat Kirby with an elite passing game which Texas still has.

I don’t care what any team says but a top 10 team losing a preseason all American will hurt.

It’s just like when teams miss out on a big 5 star and sign a 3 star instead. “He could be just as good or better”

Definitely sucks, but we're very loaded at RB and have three guys, easily, who could start on most teams.

Elite passing starts with competent rushing. Doesn't require a lot of yards rushing, it requires enough competent rushing to keep the defense honest.

Don't know a lot about Texas' running game other than it was apparently pretty good last year or they would not have gone 11-1...but losing a starter means less depth which is always damaging to some extent. May not make much difference, do not know, but generally speaking, even discounting someone being hurt, someone being hurt and not available is not ideal for anyone. I suspect, do not know, that Texas is able to compensate and will do fine, but if they'd had a choice they'd prefer having the extra depth....
