Which of the LSU tailgate areas would you recommend for thick-skinned visitors who drink a lot and love good food?
All of them. We're gonna "Tiger Bait" you and talk a little shite, but 90% of people will offer you food, a cold beverage, and let you hang out as long as you're not an a-hole.

My BIL doesnt get out much and kept saying to come up for an OU game. claimed their atmosphere was second to none
It was average at best. Id put it in the bottom 3rd of the SEC
Del Conte has made lots of improvements to the UT game day and it has gotten better.

Sounds about right for Fayetteville. Tailgating is Little Rock is nice. Lots of shade tress and close to the stadium.

LSU says parking not tailgating

You can tailgate anywhere.

OU is ok but it's not anything that special by SEC standards. Texas is like an NFL game with big sponsored tailgates by local companies that feel more like a business/social event.
LSU is epic and unique. The food and culture is great and you can tell how much pride people have in their program. It's all the best parts of Louisiana outside of the hunting and fishing of course. You need to smile when you get "Tiger Baited", have a sense of humor, and don't be an arse and you will be treated like family.
The A&M tailgate scene really went from almost nothing when I was in school to massive. It spreads out in all directions and you see custom smokers and cornhole everywhere. Visiting fans are almost always treated well though I'm sure some have run into a jackwagon or two. Aggies try to be good hosts.
They are also rebuilding Spence Park next to Kyle this year so it's all under construction. It's going to be an updated tailgating area as well and looks like it will be really nice. Unfortunately it looks like they are going to charge to set up there but there are plenty of options all around campus you can set up for free.

Let us give OU and UT a chance. Once they see how tailgating is done in the SEC, they will change.

two or three things.
A) You can give thanks to one person for all the red. Molly Boren, the wife of the OU president who didn't wan't OU to come to the SEC 10 years ago. She didn't like people messing up the grass. That is already in the plans to be fixed
B) Before Molly (BM), a portion of that red was tailgating, but not all
C) My son attended aTm on scholarship so I know what aTm's was before and after SEC. Trust me, it was indescribably worse, pre SEC. That was before they added the B12 conference championship year that they lost the championship game and one year that they didn't even make it to the conference championship (no one has a clue how they claimed that year. It isn't in the conference records, outside of their wall). They may want to deny that. But, if you believe what they say about those things, shame on you
D) It will get fixed. As I said, it just takes time to recover from BM
Lastly, I have stated before. I have been to all the old B12 stadiums, SWC stadiums and 5 of the SEC stadiums. For decades, before moving to AZ, I attended 8-9 OU games a year. The five Fall seasons he was at aTm, (he worked or interned with Federal Govermnet during the Summers which caused an extra Fall) were the only excepts for several decades
All that to say, the Alabama fans, the last time I was there were the best at talking football instead of insults, free food and free beer of any stadium I have visited. That was a few years ago, in 03, if I remember correctly

You forgot to add the part where he and his box partner made a killing selling/trading fake tickets.

From an old fart that goes every other year and use to park on the grass at Knapp or Williams Hall years ago (yes I respected the roots of the oaks unlike some people) unless you drive down Friday and secure a parking place close forget about it! Closest place would be Port Allen!!!!! Lol Daybreak those Cajuns come out of the woodwork..Recommendation…. Park out by Walk On’s.

What Mike the Tiger is saying is truth. They’ll give you a bit of hell but… bad things come to those that look for it. It’s my favorite which doesn’t hurt that I have family living in the Highlands area for years. If you hit a white ball, go to Santa Maria GC Saturday morning before day break and get ready to be abused on #1 tee box. Foursomes teeing off before the sun comes up and the course opens and still drunk as a skunk! Gotta love it!

I lived in OKC for three years, just up the road from Norman. The only thing good about Oklahoma is its too dry to sweat, which is nice. That’s it.

I live in OKC. This is not true. Humidity is bad here and we sweat often. No swamp, but sticky AF in summer.

Looking forward to stepping our tailgate game up.

No swamp,
True, but compared to Florida it’s a dry desert. My car A/C went out there and I didn’t need to replace it for a year, no sweating.
