So what if a team does not compete in a sport, for example Texas schools not competing in Gymnastics? Seems like a fair way would be to allow for the top 20 or 22 or whatever sports teams compete and you can drop a sport or twos score to balance out for the schools that do not have a certain sport. Should go for all shouldn't penalize a team that doesnt actually compete in the sport. just trying to be fair an objective my team looks like they will win either way.
It doesn't affect your score in any way if you don't compete in a sport. You are only scored in the sports you choose to compete in and you take your average from that.
It is not a total points thing, it is a total points divided by all the teams that competed in those sports. So you don't get a zero added in if you don't compete.

As long as you don't lead in football...

I'm pretty sure Tennessee has won the last three.

Texas will not accept. We only claim Championships that fall in line with extreme mainline norms. Therefore we claim championships we dont deserve (1970 undefeated regular season but lost to Notre Dame in Cotton Bowl) and disregard 10 undefeated seasons far more worthy which someone (other than the associated press) claims texas was national champion

Shows where the program has fallen under Stricklin
This, and when we added Texas, I knew UFs days of dominating this were over.
Texas has a superior athletic dept to all of the others in the SEC.
I don't like it, but it's a fact. Every sport they field is a title threat, most years.

UF winning this used to be routine, no one else even realized this was a thing.
Florida, LSU and georgia has always done pretty well in this. (Maybe another school or two, but those are the ones I remember best)
In fairness, Texas has always been very strong in the Director's Cup standings on a national level, so their doing so well is not really surprising.

Yes, this should be a UF/UT battle most years. I don't see that happening under Stricklin unfortunately unless things start to take a turn for the positive soon.

I always felt Texas and Florida have similar athletic programs. UF needs to find a better AD.
