Using Washington State as an example:

DeLoss Dodds is Jay Inslee

Chris Del Conte is Bob Ferguson

Jay Inslee is stupid
Bob Ferguson is evil

I’ve seen this bs raised quite a bit and I get that it is just pot stirring and getting a dig in on “aggy”, but if you actually have this in your head then you lack critical cognitive and reasoning skills and should probably not be in a decision making position.

There's over 125 years worth of history of them going behind the scenes to ruin A&M administratively when they can't win on the field.

Example 1: They threatened to never play A&M again pre-WW1 if A&M didn't not only join them in the fledgeling Southwest Conference, but also fire their coach Charley Moran because his teams were "playing too physical".

well yeah they had to go live in College Station. this staff gets to go live in Austin.

The government is Austin is so terrible this is hardly even a perk anymore. Rampant crime because the idiot progressives gutted the police, homeless legally camping out in front of businesses so customers have to step over them to enter shops, people shooting up on sidewalks in the middle of the day, all sorts of stupid new taxes to fund stupid bullshite with a deeply negative ROI... Austin is taking all the wrong cues from San Francisco. The government is so bad that it noticeably decreases your quality of life

Yup. This. 100%.

I’d be interested to see the numbers on how many NCAA coaches have directly said they were staying in place, only to roll out shortly thereafter. As previously mentioned in another thread, Elko would fit the bill. It’s the nature of the beast.

Maybe because it’s BIG TEXAS it’s somehow evil, particularly given it’s from baby atm.

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen the losing school completely loose their shite like atm has on this one, but I’m pretty certain there are always hurt feelings.

I’m just a bit tired of the sanctimonious bullshite coming from atm over it. They did the same with Elko (Duke just didn’t carry on like a bunch of babies), and will likely do it with their upcoming baseball coach hire.

They can only ruin A&M administratively as much as A&M lets them.

I realize Aggies think Texas is the big bad boogeyman but at the end of the day, your coach took another job.

If you guys poached Jay, I wouldn't consider A&M to be some monster.

Wait, your example is pre-WW1?

WTF? Like 100 years ago?

So you are a whiny b*tch and irrelevant?

This is more about Del Conte’s relationship with Schlossnagle than Texas and A&M. Schlossnagle was going to be Texas head baseball coach no matter where he was coaching. Conversely, if Del Conte was the AD at A&M, Schlossnagle wouldn’t have left. If Del Conte had taken the Texas job one year earlier, Schlossnagle would already have been the Texas coach for the better part of a decade.

That’s because they haven’t been kicking your arse for over a century to the point you feel it is relevant to point out pre-WW1 slights. Also, because you are a functioning adult.

How about something more recent...like when you lobbied the legislature for over 30 years to block the purchase of the South Texas College of Law because you didn't want A&M to have a law school.

Well, if the broader mentality from atm matches the asinine behavior of this forum, I’d say it was lobby time well spent.
