Nah...I think Milroe is going to bring back memories of Taysom Hill.

Texas and tennessee fans are so insufferable

Which time? Taysom Hill pummeled the horns in the ground in multiple games. You thinking of the one with or without the giant knee brace?

Milroe is going to play tight because he grew up a Texas fan in Houston and his subconscious wants us to succeed. I predict 2 interceptions.
Yeah..... how many in Texas are Texas fans growing up and go elsewhere, throw a game?
Even if he throws 2 ints, Alabama will still win by 24

So what you’re saying is that Milroe will be pulled and Dylan LonerGOAT will come in and lead a comeback?

Apart from his 20 yard amazing escape artist scramble he ran 6 times for 18 yards. We can live with that.

Wasn't that the game where Kiffin had already checked out, and was fired before the CFPNCG?

He was fired for showing up drunk to the team breakfast

Is this really what happened? I always assume it was known Kiffin was leaving and Saban put Sark in to make sure someone was focused.

Cool. Too bad stopping Jalen Hurts isn't the flex you think it is considering he was an average college QB at best that multiple above average teams had zero issues containing.
Even LSU's abysmal 2019 defense made him look like a bitch while the QB that "replaced him" at Bama lit that same defense up.
With that being said, the jury's still out on Milroe and Sark/Kiffin/Daboll were superior OCs to Rees so we shall see.

Texas DC, Pete Kwiatkowski's defense held Jalen Hurts to 7/14 passing for 57 yards and zero touchdowns and only 57 yards rushing on 19 carries in the 2016 CFP. If his scheme could contain Hurts, it can contain Milroe.
Ah yes, the game where Kiffin was famously so distracted that he called a play that literally didn't exist in our playbook. He was promptly told to leave before the title game because the preparation and game calling was so atrocious and distracted

So I agree, if we game plan and play call in a similar manner as we did in the Peach Bowl vs Washington then we are fricked.

quote:It IS possible that after his first year in the program with Tom Herman's players in a scheme they were unfamiliar with that he could build the roster to this liking and his defense could improve. The talent level he has now, and the familiarity they have with his scheme, is on par with his 2016 Washington squad.

Not so sure that it is.

So you are saying it's a different situation so that is why we can't compare compare 2017 Washington vs Alabama and 2022 Texas vs Okie State (20 games into Kwiatkowski's tenure at Texas... in NIL age, more than enough time to get the guys you want)
But True Freshman Jalen Hurts under Lane Kiffin in the playoffs THAT STILL WON THE GAME is the exact same as a Redshirt Sophomore Jalen Milroe under Tommy Reese. No different variables there.
It is nice when you make an argument and then not accept that the other side has the same argument.

And lost 24-7 on a night Kiffin had already checked out mentally. Recall this is the game that led to Kiffin being “fired” from a job he was already leaving.
