Why do you think the Gumps won the SEC so many times? They feasted on bad teams while we played the big boys of the conference every year.

Florida wasn't a big boy. You played them because they were willing to play at Auburn, being in similar situations regarding venues. You played Georgia because they were willing to play a neutral site game at Columbus when teams still weren't willing to travel to Auburn. And you played UT because you agreed to play your "home" games against them in Birmingham. On the opposite side of the scale, you played Mississippi State 22 straight times in Birmingham.

Bama won a number of SEC titles simply by playing more games than everyone else, and having a better winning percentage. Basically, hard as this may be to believe given what we seem from select portions of their fan based, they outsmarted the rest of the league.

SEC scheduling, back before the league was in charge, and when teams used to split the gate, was really an interesting study in power dynamics and politics.

UT has beaten A&M the last time they met in men's basketball

Exhibition games do not count except for bragging rights.

The last time the two teams met in a game that actually counts towards W/L records, A&M won by double digits in Nassau, Bahamas.

Why would aTm want to play them again? Sure it would be great tv, but after what Texas did to them with that Longhorn Network BS I don't blame them.

Tell me again how someone who signs a DD Form 4/1 isn't actually in the military.

I think he means "Jorge Bush." I think he was one of the "extras" that played a Hispanic ranch hand in the movie Tombstone .

Scoreboard remains with A&M, as the game in the Atlantis Tournament actually counted towards official records instead of being a glorified pickup game.

Current records for both schools for the 2017-2018 season are 0-0.

tell me again how this applies to each aggy toy soldier?

Real military has ID's, benefits, commissions, reserve or active duty status.. the vast majority of the TAMU fake army has none and never will.

They are trainees in a student military org.

The easy answer, and I’m just spitballing here, lies in the industries the majority of grads go into.

I’m assuming far more aTm grads are in the engineering field (which, depending on the type of engineer, is a fairly well paid profession) while I’m sure there is a much larger “liberal arts” presence at Univ Texas.

Just my guess.

Obtained shortly after signing scholarship/contract paperwork.

commissions

The only individuals commissioned are commissioned officers and warrant officers at the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2 or above. By your idiotic standard, no one in the rank of WO1 or below (Including all enlisted ranks) is actually in the military.

reserve or active duty status

Every ROTC Cadet who signs their scholarship or contract paperwork is on Reserve Status. Hence the acronym RESERVE Officers Training Corps.

Once again, it takes very little effort to shite on your trolling attempt.

Not really since I don't give a shite.

If I had to hazard a guess it would be that A&M spits out a higher percentage of business/engineering grads and Texas a higher percentage of liberal arts majors.

Back to the OP... Nice to see the governor is focused on the most pressing issues.

But agree they should fire it up again. It was never Texas' biggest game, but most probably miss it if they won't admit as much. Glad we skipped a few years as far as the result though.

That and the level of seniority in those respective fields.

LOL at all the A&M fans in this thread that are "total over" UT and have put them in rear-view. Without fail, these threads go 5+ pages, every single time.

All I'm saying is that South Carolina isn't scared to play Clemson. Florida isn't scared to play FSU. Kentucky isn't scared to play Louisville. Georgia isn't scared to play Georgia Tech.

A&M and Mizzou brought their chicken shite "run and hide" mentality to the SEC and they are ruining our brand.

I really don't see what TAMU has to gain by this, really.

If they could rip through several wins in a row, I would imagine it would be a boon to recruiting.
