Absolutely and it was 5-6 million and was within NCAA rules

For an entire class

Where yall paid 30mm in 2024 and 40mm in 2025 for your roster

And there’s nothing wrong with it

But you’ve achieved the same results as anyone else that didn’t win anything

All of the coaches and all of the players that played and coached at Bama, not one has accused the program, under Saban, of cheating. A LOT were processed out and left under bad terms with Saban. Before anyone goes down the Dodge Charger theory, you may want to ascertain what a Pell grant is.

The argument is Alabama has paid players under the table and given inducements for years. Now that everybody can do it, their advantage is gone.

Please tell me what Arkansas had to offer that Alabama didn't which required Alabama to pay a recruit to enroll.

get off your high horse

It really wasn't. How much did Cam Newton cost?? He'd be worth $10M+ today. Modern NIL is lunacy & is hard to stomach.

"Coaching" means a lot less when teams are so much more heavy handed with the Benjamins

Lol. We all saw Saban coach without an overwhelming talent advantage when he was coaching the Dolphins. The results were.....less than impressive

Steve Spurrier was worse. So was Bobby Petrino. Urban Meyer was worse than any of them. Dennis Erickson went 63-9 at Miami, won two national championships, and never had a losing record at five other college head coaching jobs. He had a losing record as a NFL head coach. Matt Rhule? Went 11-27 in the NFL. Gene Stallings? Loser in the NFL.

The way many college coaches coach doesn’t translate to the NFL. Now that college is becoming NFL lite that will become more obvious.

National championship winning college coaches - College records vs. NFL

Saban: 292-71-1 (80.4%), 15-17 (46.9%)

Spurrier: 228-89-2 (71.9%), 13-20 (37.5%)

Meyer: 187-32 (85.4%), 2-11 (15.4%)

Erickson: 179-96-1 (65.1%), 40-56 (41.7%)

Stallings: 97-61-2 (61.4%), 23-34-1 (40.4%)

So you were saying?

I was saying that Saban is not an impressive coach when he doesnt have an overwhelming talent advantage. Which you seem to have shown with your figures. Thanks!

Looks like the same can be said for the rest of the coaches on that list. They all paid players to gain a massive talent advantage too. None were quite as good at it as Saban though. GOAT for sure.

This isn’t about Arkansas. It’s about Alabama and they’re cheating for decades. Try to keep up. I know it’s hard.

You are slow on the uptake.

At this level of competition, that's exactly what college football is now .

Yeah, but Bama only has Dodge Charger money— not Lamborghini money.

It’s not fair and it’s ruining the game.

I’ve been in denial. Media are reporting that Ty Simpson is being offered 6.5 million to forgo the draft and play one more season somewhere. It’s spiraling out of control right in front of our eyes, and those who think college football as we know it can survive this are now the ones in denial.

I mean we were one score away from the national championship game 2 out of the last 3 years and we’ve kicked y’all’s asses every step of the way, but I take your point.

You perfected this game. What do you mean you don’t want to play anymore?

You get what you pay for aggy. You should have "bought" 11 more points.

Is this not how Saban stacked 5 stars 3 deep at Alabama?

Bags of cash at barber shops!

Dodge cars from shady dealerships?

Alabama/Saban put players into the NFL at a rate that was double that of the next highest coach(Urban) and like 4 times higher than the average.

This statement is flat out false. Here's a breakdown of NFL drafted players throughout the Saban years at Alabama compared to LSU:

YEAR Bama LSU
--------------------------------------
2007 3 5
2008 0 7
2009 4 9
2010 7 6
2011 5 6
2012 8 6
2013 9 9
2014 8 9
2015 7 4
2016 7 5
2017 20 8
2018 12 7
2019 10 14
2020 9 14
2021 10 7
2022 8 10
2023 10 6
------------------------------------
Total 137 132
