This.

And Texas fans are about to learn that a 21 point arse whipping in Knoxville over a top 20 team matters a shite ton.

Having 3 losses is the issue of concern for Texas. We can solve this issue without playing football by choosing who we schedule.
The number of losses is exactly the problem, but TX fans are focusing on the wrong loss, as if merely losing to Ohio State is what might keep them out rather than Florida.

Doesn’t matter. If Georgia losses a couple of the close SEC teams that they squeaked out a win over, I wouldn’t be complaining about potentially being left out of the playoffs.

Bama lost to FSU, badly. Florida hammered FSU. It’s solely about the number in the loss column. Doesn’t matter who you beat or who you lost to. And the SEC went to a 9 game schedule which accomplishes nothing but ensuring more losses for its members.

We put together an elaborate CFP selection committee to do nothing but count wins and losses.
It isn’t solely about the number in the loss column, but that does count.

If TX lost 4 games instead of 3, would you still think it was unfair to be counting losses?

If TX loses to OSU but beats Florida, would you still be saying they were paying the price for the harder OOC game? The only reason TX fans are saying that now is because they are picking and choosing which losses (OSU) to focus on.

There were several years where we beat 0u only for Mack to frick up somewhere else. And 0u got a shot.

That's just Mack Brown Texas Football.

No confusion on my part. It's not the OSU loss, but the UF loss that hurts us. But our coach much like he was during the Florida game is clueless.

Did Ohio St gain anything by beating Texas?

Also taken to OT by 5-7 Miss St (after a miracle Q4 comeback) and 5-7 UK.
We were so stupid. It's almost like the defense froze and they played not to lose on Offense.

Unless OU was looking ahead, I wasn’t that impressed. Mateer is no bueno.

The only looking ahead was Mateer staring down his receiver so the DB could jump the pass. He is Mr. No Bueno

It’s simple math boys. You’re not going to the playoff.

A lot of us knew this when we lost the 3rd game. You are getting too worked up over a head coach who was simply trying to fight for his team, like any coach should do.

You should worry about your first round opponent more and less about what Sark or any random Texas fan thinks.

So what makes you think some other power 4 was a guaranteed win? Lol

You’re missing the point, surely on purpose. Do you want big name out of conference matchups in the future or not? Texas would be 10-2 if they swapped Ohio St for North Texas this season.
Seems to me that playing a tough out of conference opponent is paying off for A&M.

Are you really this dense? Ohio State is the only loss that we directly controlled scheduling this season. Picking ND, Miami, BYU over Texas signals that there is no value in a tough P4 OOC game.

But we don’t control scheduling Florida. We do control scheduling OOC. And if the committee isn’t going to respect sos why should Texas or any other team care?

If we acknowledge the sec is the hardest conference AND we are going to 9 conf games next year then why would any team risk playing any OOc team with a pulse?
