Vance Bedford, the coach whose tweet we are referencing here, was DC at Oklahoma State when *Fran* hung 62 points on them in 2005. He got fired after two years there. That's the quality of coach we are dealing with here. 62 by FRAN.

Can you imagine Nick Saban tweeting that about an Auburn player?

Now that's just funny. Shouldn't Utex coaches have better things to do? What a stupid statement.

Can you imagine Saban getting 62 points hung on him by a 5-7 A&M team?

What do y'all suppose Gundy's reaction was when heard Bedford, a guy he fired for sucking, was announced as DC at UT? It can't get much better than a rival hiring a known quantity that you know to suck!

He posts the same thing on every A&M thread and is usually ignored. I don't think he likes Texas A&M.

Parents & high school coaches are taking note of the drug & alcohol problem that Sumlin has fostered and how he has to bring an outside consultant to see if he can scare his boys straight. Is that planter box where your next QB passed out an Aggie landmark yet?

Wow, didn't know that. It appears the entire tu coaching staff has "little man" syndrome.

Has Fran ever hung 62 on any other DC?

I think it's clear that A&M has passed UT in significance. A&M is winning the battles for the best players in state. They have captured an enormous amount of media coverage and they now have more resources than ever.
A&M has a lot of momentum.

@CoachBedfordUT: Manziel is a top 10 pick by the scouts. I wish him the best. He played backyard ball for 3 years. Now he will have to learn how to be a Qb

Just so I'm clear....Manziel won the heisman trophy, shattered Cam Newtons single season yardage record (playing one fewer game), had the two best individual seasons for a QB in SEC history playing for a team that should have been struggling just to make a bowl game....and he was able to accomplish all of that without any knowledge of how to actually play the QB position? T&P for the NFL if he figures out how to really play QB.

two recent Heisman winners

The best part is that it's actually the last THREE. Jameis said he wanted to go to Texas in an interview last fall.

Highest point totals under Franchione:

2003: 73-10 over Baylor
2005: 66-8 over SMU
2005: 62-23 over Oklahoma State
2007: 54-14 over Louisiana-Monroe
2006: 51-7 over Louisiana-Lafayette
2007: 47-45 over Fresno State
2006: 45-14 over Louisiana Tech
2003: 45-33 over Kansas
2005: 44-31 over Texas State
2004: 42-30 over Kansas State

That's right. In 60 games under Franchione, A&M went over 40 points a grand total of 10 times.

When you consider the fact that overall it is good for the SEC if we take over our state (if only for SEC Network distribution and recruiting), then you realize that most true SEC fans would like to see us stay out in front of Texas. And we do see that on here a lot.

SECr's who DON'T want to see us in front of Texas despite the overall SEC benefit fit into three categories:

1. LSU and Arky fans who want to troll A&M and maintain their position of historical dominance over us. LSU fans will drop it quickly, while Arky fans will go a little further if only because they feel more threatened (even though they shouldn't).

2. Fans of helmet teams. These are fans that only like college football being dominated by the teams that they are comfortable with and don't like newcomers. From my experience these fans have a low intelligence level, too low to effectively keep up with interesting posts even if they are determined to "put us in our place."

3. Sip sympathizers. Either outright Texas fans that latch to a second favorite team as a cover while posting here, SEC fans living in Texas who got sold when Vince made his run, or fans of other Big 12 programs that know they will be screwed if A&M's perceived dominance forces Texas into a new conference situation.

If they quit quickly or run to a shiny hook (little bro talk) you have a number 1. So many LSU and Arky fans fit in this category.

If they keep pounding on A&M's history without any good bait to go along with it you have a number 2. One important thing is they have to mostly focus on how A&M sucks and not how Texas is better.

BUT

If you have one who main focus is how A&M has sucked relative to Texas historically and how we will ALWAYS be the lessor program in the state then you have a sip sympathizer. At that point have some fun at their expense.

Sometimes it is hard to know when you have a number 2 type and not a sip sympathizer, but hopefully the poster will help and throw in some sip talking point (anything 12th man, any Nazi comparison, etc.) so they make it really clear. This is important because a number #2 type Aggie hater will never be as fun as a pure sip sympathizer, if only because they often lack the intelligence for proper engagement.
