I don't know if this is true or not, but it would be hilarious to see A&M choke, then lose their coach to big brother.

Timing is a big part of these decisions, trying either to capitalize when a lot of eyes are on the sport or to avoid the conflict of making an announcement at a time that coincides with the title game. Depends on who’s making the decision, and if they’re going after one of these two HC’s.

Jimmy Sexton usually works a few contract extensions for his coaches with some well placed rumors.

he's the best college baseball coach in America.

I pushed for Schlossnagle at LSU three years ago. Y'all laughed at me on this board. I think what he did at TCU and now A&M prove how exceptional he is. LSU didn't even contact him back in 2021, though Schlossnagle very, very much wanted the job.
Good thing he didn’t come here or he’d be gone after 3 years to join his old AD at Texas and leave LSU completely fricked.

My thoughts exactly. Is he a good coach, yes. Is he the best coach in college baseball? No

For a big job when was the last time the first name to drop(in this situation Schloss) actually came true?

Agree Schloss deserved more respect in LSU’s search

Why? Because A&M gave him a deadline and LSU wasn’t ready to talk yet?

Stone cold Steve Austin is the new coach at Texas.

For the sake of disclosure, I pushed for Schlossnagle at LSU three years ago. Y'all laughed at me on this board. I think what he did at TCU and now A&M prove how exceptional he is. LSU didn't even contact him back in 2021, though Schlossnagle very, very much wanted the job. The Aggies gave him a Wednesday night deadline back on June 9, 2021. Schloss waited to the end and LSU never called. At 12:01 a.m. that night A&M announced they had hired Jim Schlossnagle.

You say many laughed at you, but I remember several wanted him. However, LSU just won a championship. What is wrong with you people? I will never understand any of this fantasizing over other coaches when yours won a championship in year 2.

Yeah, Schloss had great success at TCU. Jay Johnson also took Arizona to the CWS twice and played for the championship there.

I am glad LSU got Jay over Schloss.

Not understanding your, “I told you so” attitude. I would have been cool with Schloss, but Jay is elite and far more likable. I wanted Vitello even though he is unlikable, but winning is most important. All things equal then give me the guy easiest to like and that’s Jay for me.

I hope Schloss wins tonight, because Vitello is a baby.

I highly doubt that is the case. If that were the case they would have waited until after tonight's game to announce it.

I would love for Vitello to jump ship and go to Texas just so all the Vol fans can squeal and cry. But there is very little reason for him to do so.

As for Schlossangle, it would not be beneficial for him to leave the Aggies for Texas.

Schloss is older and has a beast of a young team and recruits coming in. He's only been there 3 years and I don't see him taking a lateral move like UT.

Vitello is losing a lot next year, been there several years and Texas will certainly outbid tenner if it comes down to it. Plus he has the ego drive that coaching at a program like Texas would certainly bring.

Unless he just wants out of A&M, it's hard to see the school letting him go to Texas. Particularly if he wins the NC tonight.

He's been at A&M for 3 seasons and reached the CWS in two. He could possibly win the NC tonight. You have to imagine A&M would be competitive with any amount of money Texas could put up.

Maybe the AD is flying to Omaha and isn't leaving without Nolan Cain on the plane

How petty that they did this and there’s rumors of them going after Schloss while A&M plays for their first team title since the 1930s

Even if it’s all bullshite it’s hilarious they have the A&M fanbase thinking about the longhorns today of all days while playing for all the marbles

A&M isn’t letting their coach go to Texas.

They’ll outbid Texas and completely over pay just to prove a point. It’s gotta be Vitello. Tennessee definitely can’t outbid Texas

Has nothing to do with money. Has everything to do with his kids. Family always win. We saw it first hand with Baker.

Did you miss the part where Blake Baker is the highest paid assistant coach in CFB?

Money talks. Anyone who otherwise is full of shite. Everyone has a price. Money will ensure your family a very happy life. We’re talking generational money here. Money that sets up people’s family forever.
