I doubt it. Saban had over 50 games of Colt McCoy playing and maybe 10 plays total of Gilbert. When you don't know the QB tendencies, the defense plays more conservative coverage. Where the defense can usually say "Colt never throws here in this situation, put another guy there" they can't do that when they know nothing about Gilbert.
For example, on the first touchdown you have Nico Johnson just standing in the middle of the field spying a QB he probably doesn't need to spy, where this could've easily put more pressure on Gilbert. It's probably still a touchdown because they got away from Javi pretty hard, but it just shows how different the game plan becomes when suddenly the guy you orchestrate around isn't there

Saban was even chucking fake punt passes for interceptions from his own redzone before the injury.
It was the first possession of the game.
And besides, that fake punt wasn't Saban's call. It was the punter's. In film study, PJ Fitzgerald was taught that if Texas showed a certain look out on the edge, a fake punt could work. Fitzgerald thought he saw it, audibled to a fake, and threw it up for grabs.

The game was over at half because Texas couldn't stop Alabama. At half, BAMA let off the gas. Texas was shite, and Colt was a quitter. Cry bitches.

All these Bama baws taking that bait hard. A rivalry is born?

We've been listening to them cry for over a decade. We'll be much obliged to kick their asses again.

I get the point and at the time this wasn't an unreasonable opinion when we thought Garrett Gilbert was the next coming of Christ.
But then we learned out that he sucked arse. "SEC game speed" was objectively proved false by Gilbert. If he was anywhere in Colt's stratosphere, okay...but he wasn't. Saban should have been able to obliterate w/ a bad freshman's first start in the NC game.

Auburn fans have been saying the same shite since 2009. It's more for them

Romo played with broken ribs all the time. Don't give me that shite. If Colt could have physically thrown he'd have done it.
It's actually impossible to rewatch that game and not come back with a lesser opinion of Alabama. Imagine the greatest head coach of all time not being able to put away Garrett Gilbert until the end of the 4th.
Texas fans who use the "If Colt hadn't got hurt" line only show themselves to not know shite about football.
You got your asses straight up whipped on both sides of the line all game long.
You got beat by 16 points in the end, and it was never a game where it looked like Texas could win.
Why did Colt get hurt to start with? Because the play got shut down hardcore. It was an option sweep play, but the Alabama cornerback had come down and took away the pitch, Colt is then forced up field with the edge being set, and because your offensive line couldn't deal with them and tried to cut block, Colt gets hit hard and goes down.
Texas got beat so badly, it made Mack Brown completely change his scheme and made him question everything he thought he knew about the sport. Which lead to the eventual fall of Texas as he didn't have the recruits he needed to play like Alabama.
It's all about the line of scrimmage and I guess they don't teach real football in Texas since your fanbase can't figure it out.

His stats against Alabama that night:
15-40 35.7% 186 YDs 2 TDs 4 INTs
That's a QB rating of 21.4

That's not bait. That's the truth.

Jordan Shipley made Gilbert look a lot better that night than he actually is

Dang it, I hate it when people make me think about games from the past where Alabama dominated the shite out of it's opponent.
It's so mean.

Then why was the score 21-24 with 6 minutes to go? Could it be that your offense was so pathetic that it couldn't make use of that line of scrimmage advantage?

You know how I know you just went back and watched that one play then looked at the box score?

Same thing would have happened to Saban if he lost. Notice how he hasn't gone back to the dogshit offense you guys used to use now that he's got a taste of a real one?
