Every SEC team has someone on their schedule they have only played once in the last 13 years.
Just checked winsipedia. LSU has played everyone at least twice - home and away. Maybe Covid year messed y’all up?

Texas A&M has been in the SEC for 13 years...and they've only dickrode Alabama and tried to play spoiler to their annual superbowl against LSU.

A&M has played LSU more times than some founding member schools in the SEC have played each other.
It's one of those mind blowing trivia situations.
LSU has played Texas A&M in football twice as many times as they've played Vanderbilt . (63 meetings vs. 32 meetings)
Vanderbilt and LSU are SEC Charter Schools.

There are teams with 100 years in the SEC who don’t got shite to show either, what’s your point?

That is weird. I know in the early days it had a few extra teams. But it was ten teams for years.

Aggies at Kentucky would be a great road trip.
I hope Texas will play Kentucky at Kentucky too. Kentucky is a beautiful and interesting state to visit, which I always enjoy traveling through…

Seems kinda low, no?
There are basically 2 ways you can run into an SEC opponent, schedule, and Atlanta. TAMU could see Georgia all they want IF they ever get to The Bird's Nest.

quote:Up to some point in time (I want to say 1982), the league didn't make out the schedule for the schools. The only rule with regard to scheduling was you had to play a minimum number of SEC games in order to be eligible for the SEC title (and there were even some exceptions to that). So, some schools would play five SEC games, some would play six or seven.
That is weird. I know in the early days it had a few extra teams. But it was ten teams for years.
There were years when the title was decided by the fact that one team played more games than another. There were matchups that were played every year (or close to it), and matchups that were almost never played.
Feuds were indulged. Georgia Tech wouldn't play the Mississippi schools. Bama played Georgia every year until a magazine article accused Bear and the Georgia coach of gambling, and then they simply stopped.
And then there was the issue of where matchups were played. Because gate revenue was split evenly, schools with small stadiums generally wanted to play schools with big stadiums, and the ones with big stadiums would sometimes refuse to travel to the small ones. For example, Tennessee played Auburn regularly starting in the '50s, but never in Auburn until 1980; Auburn was forced to play their "home" games against Tennessee at Legion Field in Birmingham.

It’s funny, because I see people talking about getting the old original sec back…and Georgia has played LSU a total of 33 times. Tennessee / LSU 34 times.
By comparison:
LSU Overall Record Against Rice : 38-13-5
That’s not a conference.

It's absolutely absurd we haven't hosted the Aggies here in Lexington yet. Our game in 2017 down in College Station was an epic OT thriller. Even more ridiculous, we played newcomer Texas in Austin this past season and they come to Lexington this year. Ridiculous.

I'm still miffed my 2020 guys Bourbon tour and LSU road game to Kentucky got nixed by Fauci and his minions.

This thread held up fairly well. I thought it would go south in a hurry.

The SEC tried to make fake rivalries when Mizzou and AnM joined.
AnM and South Carolina is not a rivalry, but the SEC forced them to play every year crossdivision. That took AnM out of regular rotation. During the division years, AnM only got one East team a season not named South Carolina.

I’d buy it but we’ve played Tenn like 4 times, Florida probably more. Explain that reasoning?

I guess nobody gives a shite about watching Anm vs UGA. That's the only logical thinking.

And no change in schedule this year other than home/away.

I can see what they were trying to do.
They paired Mizzou/Ark and A&M/sCar
The previous expansion pair facing off against the new expansion pair.
I guess there's some logic there? Idk. I'll leave that up to someone else to decipher.
