That's $750K.
This right here. Also Tenner is thirsting for some positive new right now. Shaft is right, they want the spotlight elsewhere.

I guess little girls making fun of a boy's shirt is bullying in 2019.
Yikes.

I agree. He was sent all kinds of UT swag as well. Good on UT.

Honestly, I consider this a needs based scholarship. It hasn't been stated outright but I believe his family is likely poor and the teacher has gone through pretty big lengths to protect his and their privacy. That's why his shirt was homemade and it's why they bullied him for it. Even in Florida, you can find a UT shirt.
The full story isn't being told but it doesn't take much to read between the lines in this case.

The Vols have been bullied by almost everyone in the country 10 years + so they should know something about the topic
Posted on 9/12/19 at 3:06 pm to Gulf Coast Tiger

You can stop being so cynical:
quote:
"All proceeds from the sale of the shirts will go directly to the charity Stomp Out Bullying. The university will cover the cost of the scholarship separately. Orders will begin shipping later this month."

I’m going to assume the irony of this post is intentional.
With that out of the way, there is something very wrong with equating kids doing what they (and even a lot of adults) do when someone wears different clothes and the physical and/or serious emotional abuses some suffer. It devalues the word and does a disservice to the victims of the more serious acts. It really is no different than the way whistling at or hitting on a pretty girl is considered sexual assault by many people.
People are going to be mean and at some point you are going to have to face it on your own. It is far better that you experience them and learn to handle them as a younger child instead of becoming an adult without those skills.

2 girls who don't even know what college football and didn't participate in college colors day said something.
it would have had to be kids who were participating in college colors day who would have said something for it to be bullying.

I was posting it more in the vein of that's impressive.
Regardless of the financial bottom line, the amount of goodwill generated by this is priceless.
In my mind, that's why they extended the offer they did.
