The SEC doesn't have to give it up. Move Bama and Auburn to the East to make room for Texas and Oklahoma. Go to a 9 game SEC schedule with no protected rivals.
Bama keeps the Vols, Auburn keeps Georgia. You play everyone on the other side of the conference once every 4 years which isn't particularly worse than what we have now. Everybody gets 3 non-conference games which gives you room for two rent a wins and a P5 opponent (assuming the new football alliance is willing to play us).
Yeah, some years you are going to wind up playing one more road game than home game in conference. The next year you get that game back. Everybody with a big out of conference rival still has room for them on the schedule plus some warm up games.

I've never seen a more fair weather fan base in the SEC. No one quits on their team like the VOLs.
They're the Miami of the SEC in that regard. They too disappear when not doing well.

Yeah, no shite. It's when they had their two greatest coaches in Spurrier and Meyer. But people love to talk about it and then never seem to bring up UT being 1-14 against UF the last 15 years.

The point is UT's record is worse the last 30 years against UF and is still doing poorly while UGA has broken their slump the last 10 years.

Maybe it does. I just don't see it as much as UGA's record but I also haven't seen that much the last few years either

because UGA has been worlds better as a program so of course they'll get trolled more when a statline isn't favorable to them. Tennessee also doesn't have nearly as many fans on here for people to troll, but their record against Florida and Alabama get brought up plenty. They're a combined 2-30 against those two teams from 2005-present
