Tennessee was five games back when Saban arrived.

You think that's bad. Just look at Arkansas and their record with us. I believe it was a 10-7 Alabama advantage when Saban arrived in January 2007. The record now stands at a 24-7 Alabama advantage in August 2021.

First, the report in the Knoxville News that a majority of Tennessee fans polled by the paper want to give up the TSIO.

Then, Tennessee returns tickets to Alabama for this October's game.

George, this is amazing news and thanks for bringing it to the board; we can always count on getting the latest news here at SEC Rant.

This is Georgia Tech'ish, almost. They want out because Alabama is just too much every single year. They've already got Florida stomping them regularly also and it's just too much.

There is only so much carving a pumpkin can take before it loses it's structure and collapses. Alabama is going to need another real rival, in addition to Opelika.

Maybe Oklahoma would be a good match for a great, new, intense, and competitive rivalry.

Can you really blame them? I'd find more rewarding things to do with my time if my team had lost 14 straight to another opponent.

Also factor in attendance and ticket demand will be down across the board in CFB this year with Covid spiking back up right as we hit fall.

They were pretty damn close in 2015 with Butch Jones. The final score was 19-14, but Tennessee took the lead with 5:49 left in the game. Besides Ole Miss/Clemson that was probably our closest game that year.

Michigan has beaten Ohio State three times this century and that game is still hyped up beyond all measure by the media. Is that a bullshite rivalry, too?

Meh, it was low hanging fruit and a topic that NPC LSU posters make every couple of weeks and has been thoroughly discussed. That being said Georgia and Florida have combined for two wins during Tennessee's current losing streak to Alabama.

Over this same stretch every year Florida has won the East, Alabama has met them in the SEC championship game.

Oh what about Georgia, the only year that Alabama didn't play the Dawgs while they were good was 2019.

So who do we replace the Vols with... Kentucky, Vanderbilt or South Carolina?

This is one thing I can give kudos to Auburn about. They do not back down to anybody. They play tough schedules most years.

Can you share your record vs florida since 1992, and either of your records vs Saban since he arrived?

Difference is we are still playing them and will continue to play them.....so there's that.

And I was bracing for the worse that year. We came into that game dog tired after 8 weeks that also included an emotional trip to Athens. And the vols, of course, were well-rested with their annual bye week before the BAMA game.

TSIO this year is Bama's homecoming game? It doesn't get much more disrespectful than that for a "rivalry" game.

And many fans of both teams say it is THE most important rivalry in the SEC, if not all of CFB.

I mean, I posted the records.

Saban's been otherworldly but Bryant and Stallings were a total of +11 against Tennessee. Both of them won roughly 2 of every 3 games they played against Tennessee. That's a pretty dominating performance against a Big-6 program when they were performing at Big-6 levels.
