Mississippi recruiting is far more fertile than Tennessee. Knoxville is arguably a notch up from Starkville, though.

Wrong. 20 years ago you would've been correct

I don't think [their fans] actually have one of these.

OR he could have made Kippy Brown HC on a 1 year deal which would have stabilized the program, and, if he did well, given him a multi year contract.

Everything I've been thru for the last decade as a UT fan I can't even imagine how bad this would have gone.

Sumlin is another "would have been better than Dooley" favorite for The Legion of the Miserable. I'm sure that would have went as well as Strong....in hindsight of course.

Yes, yes, Barbara, your son is a fine young with magnificent hair. But sooner or later you're have to accept the fact that he is the worst head coach in SEC history.

To kee it on topic, you hired Ed Orgeron to be your head coach and you have lost to Troy and the team you're ragging about being 2-20 against you. This has all happened in roughly the past month, while you could have hired the guy that Tennessee won't be able to hire in Dan mullen.

No dog in this fight. Entertaining thread though. Personally as an outsider, I hope Butch stays for the comedic value, but I'm sure he is gone. Interesting game coming up between the Vols and UK.

Tenn could do a whole lot worse than Dan Mullen (like the past three guys they’ve hired).

Tennessee would be a lateral move for Mullen at this point yet a similar amount of success there that he has had at state would get him fired after 4-5 years.

They aren't the attractive program they used to be.

You have to love the Moo State fans. They stick around no matter how humiliating their team is.
