Early start for a road team always benefits the home team.

For Noon kickoffs over the last 4 years,

UT is:

5-4 overall;
1-1 against SEC West Teams;
1-1 in road games (both SEC).

LSU is:
5-1 overall;
2-1 against SEC East Teams;
2-0 at home games (both SEC Teams - Florida)

There is always an advantage to playing at home...which may be increased by earlier kickoffs.

Week before Alabama is always a letdown.

Over the last 4 years (this year hasn't been played yet), UT is 1-2 in the week before the Bama game. Lost to #13 Ole Miss and Kentucky the last 2 years...beat Mississippi State the year before that.

But LSU is playing Tennessee coming off of a bye week. Over the last 4 years they are 3-2 against teams coming off of a bye-week (all 3 wins came in 2019).

ETA...formatting fix

LSU will shite show it's way to a W. it won't be pretty. it will look stupid, marked with penalties, dropped passes, and a multitude of mistakes.

I don't think you know what 'matchup' means.

I would take thirty seconds to explain it to you, but if you don't know what it means by now, you won't understand the explanation.

Tenn will be facing the best defense they have faced all year. It will be interesting to see how they do.

LSU will be facing the worse pass offense they have faced all year, but we cannot pass. It will be interesting to see how they do.

LSU will be facing the best offense in the country. We'll see how they do.

Assuming you mean pass defense, unless you convert like 9 out of 10 4th down conversions, you won't even be close by the 4th quarter.

That's the only way you'll keep it close.

ps For OP, Heupel has never lost a game coming off a bye week. Never. That's a stat for you, as long as we're cherry picking stats.

Favorites not named Alabama have done very well coming into Tiger stadium over the years. Just check the history. Tennessee line should move to 15 by game time, so it explains why the line is going up. Tennessee will run wild

If lsu can run the ball they can win. Wish john hadn't fumbled. He was showing a few flashes we need at tailback

See #18, #11,#23 and #40 for pass rush. See #5 and crew who have been improving back into DBU form. Like it or not, LSU is the best defense Tenn will face at this point in the season.

As bad as Florida is, they moved the ball at will on the Tenn defense. Tenn D, not O will have to greatly improve for them to have a chance in the championship season.

LSU will have to throw the ball to win the game. Our rush defense has been much better this year under Rodney Gardner

Rushing offense:
LSU: 28th nationally -196 ypg
UT: 31st nationally - 193.5 ypg

Rushing defense:
UT: 21st - 97 ypg
LSU: 33rd - 109 yog

That's probably the soundest strategy. It won't work, though.

Our pass defense is horrible, but our run defense isn't shabby, and our pass rush is at worst pretty good.

You won't be able to keep pace with that strategy unless you, like Florida, are able to convert nearly every fourth down. Only then will you be able to even keep it close.

Our offense is too good.

It's a terrible matchup for LSU. Will be tough to get a win in this one.
