Tenner was on the front end of this ridiculous overpaying phase,
They even brought legal action against the NCAA over it.

He threw 18 TDs last year, 8 of which came against 2 FBS teams and UTEP. Either his parents or agent got in his ear are making him think he something he not.

Tenner got him with $9mm out of HS
However that was structured was and is still stupid is as stupid does. I’d say no one is gonna pay him that much in the portal, but Beck got it so there are still idiots out there desperate enough for success that they’ll keep making the mistakes that others already lost on

Doesn’t help with Tennessee filling these kids heads every year that they’ll be a heisman qb and win it all. If I had a dollar for every time I heard they have the best qb …

Tennessee bringing that real UT energy. Well done, Vols.

Crazy, fans hyping up their players is the problem. Only happens at Tennessee.

There are rumors that Lanning called Heupel and told him that the kid’s camp was shopping offers around.
If that turns out to be true good on Lanning.
So, Oregon is one of the schools rumored as a potential landing spot. The ethics on this are pretty muddled. I guess Lanning at least had the courtesy of letting UT know they were toying with the idea of snatching their QB. This whole situation is pretty crazy.

Beck is a projected 1st round pick and has actually shown great accuracy, footwork, mechanics, etc, when he is not running for his life and has somebody to throw to.
Nico has not done jack shite.

Steve Carlton the great baseball player said nearly 50 years ago that sports belong to the players and the only thing the fans are entitled to is to come watch the players' performance.
Now, that's a little draconian but tell me where there's not a grain of truth there.
It's a symbiotic relationship. IMO nobody is a larger part of the equation than anyone else.
Where we are now, the people who actually put their asses on the line for fans' entertainment wanting a bigger cut of the pie ... and scholarships were substantial but they are microscopic compared to how other hawgs feeding at this trough are benefiting .. was inevitable once this became a jillion dollar business.
Again, what Nico pulled was completely because of the portal, not because of NIL. Fix the portal ... tell them "You get your money but you have to commit to us for X period of time, you can't go shopping around for the highest bidder every year" ... and the problem will be fixed.
Tennessee handled this perfectly. "We ain't paying that, have a nice life elsewhere." Absolutely how it should've been handled.
But there are people on these forums calling for collusion between the schools on this, and you want a guaranteed way to give the players MORE of the pie? If the schools collude, that is an absolute winner for the players in court. I'll bet anyone all the money in my IRA ... which I need because I'm retired ... on that.

Tennessee couldn’t even make Peyton Manning a Heisman winner

Anyone surprised by this hasn’t been paying attention. NIL is madness. The shitty part is the no communication. At least let them know what you are doing. Text the coach, have your handlers reach out, something. Whole thing screams immaturity.
