Tell me why Billy Napier doesn't deserve more time?

He was 40-12 at Louisiana. Also the last 3 of 4 seasons there won 22-2 in conference. Florida fans need to get off this guys back. He's a great coach that inherited a mess. He's losing to great programs a little ahead of where he started.

Florida’s problem has been pulling the trigger too early. First McIlwain, then Mullin. Just when Billy is about to turn the corner he is going to get the axe. It was always going to be a 5-7 year rebuild for him.

Give him 10 more years to right the ship I say

But where’s the upward trajectory or potential? Lagway and….? 2025 recruiting class is in the gutter.
I don’t blame the gator admin for pulling the plug if the rumors are true. You get pounced at home twice, which both should’ve been competitive games.

Well so much for that

They need to let him try to beat Tennessee.

I don’t know if he’s a “great” coach but he deserves a fair shot, if for no other reason that you aren’t going to be able to hire anyone else worth a damn if you fire him in less than three years minimum.

Would work for me. Either get the job done quick or your salary goes way up because you only needed to work two years.

Napier has had plenty of time to have the team looking better on the field. The current team looks no better on the field than his year 1 team. In fact, it looks worse. That's why he's done at Florida, no improvement from year 1 to year 3, on the field.

Yes, he's 1-1 vs Heupel.
That's why you should let him try again, to settle it once and for all.

Goodness knows my program has seen its own share of coaches come and go these past 20 years.
I’ll just offer from our own experiences, if a guy is potentially worth sticking with, you’ll be seeing some positive indicators (maybe not record wise necessarily) of improvement in game performance (even in losses), recruiting, guys seeming to buy in, etc even within the first 2-3 years. I don’t know for sure if our own guy is “the guy” yet but for the first time in a long time we are seeing some of those positive trends and it’s happened relatively quick.
If you aren’t yet seeing even those incremental things or everything just seem to be stuck in neutral/spinning the wheels at best, then that guy may not be the guy.
It’s a tough deal. Exciting to start speculating about the next big thing I guess but also sucks to be feeling like starting over yet again.

And y’all expect a guy like Kiffin to jump ship after firing him after two years? He basically has tenure at Ole Miss after two 10 win seasons in four years.

If you are still stumbling and bumbling in year 3 you are hoping against hope.
Don’t think it’s unjustified to move on from Billy. Selfishly wish they’d keep him but if I’m a Gator fan, I’ve seen enough.

I agree. Give him more time. Much more. As much as he wants. Your fellow SEC brothers support you in this.

Hope so but not sure who we will get to replace Napier.

It’s ridiculous but it’s the times in which we live in. Instant gratification. But it works for coaches. Ask Harsin, Jimbo and O.
