Those 2 years of state history...is there twice as much

This.

When Spindletop blew out we created the modern petrochemical industry. When a newbie at Texas Instruments didn't have enough vacation time to take off during summer shutdown, he invented the integrated circuit and created the modern computer industry.

We f'n create history here.

Might as well throw in Lewis. I'll never set foot near that sum bitch again, unless it's to relieve myself after a game. And on a lighter, near horrific note, one of my dad's employees nearly shattered one of the stain glass windows once during a renovation. The old man said he nearly killed some folks that day.

wasn't it Longstreet who initially didn't advance on the right flank until it was too late?

I can't share the pic without the link.
This is the inside of Perry Cafeteria, which was the largest cafeteria in the U.S. when it was built in the early nineteen hundreds. It's gothic arches were restored in '97 and it has had another rennovation since. It contains a flag from evert country that has had a citizen attend MSU iirc.

My father to this day swears that every on campus stadium is 100% dry, something about how federal laws do not permit them.

I just smile and nod.

'largest when built', nah.

As 1 example, Sbisa was built in 1913, is 100,000 square feet and was built to seat 2500 (FWIW, Perry was built in 1921, is 33120 square feet and seats 1100). Its hard to explain just how big Sbisa is unless you've been in it, The place is just cavernous

I wonder how these rumors about 'the largest' and all get started?

Some frat stars used bolt cutters to let Mike out of his cage back in the day. Could you imaging a big arse Bengal tiger struttin' around campus?

Pretty CSB IMO.

I don't even think Perry is big. Actually it isn't. I was just repeating what I read, that it was the largest when it was built in 1913 or 14. That wasn't really the point. I just wanted to show the gothic arches and the flags.

According to legend, while they were building Francis Hall on the A&M campus, the plans ended up exceeding the proposed budget for the building. Instead of redesigning, the architects simply shrunk the plans of the building in order to meet the budget. Because of this, there are some very odd angles and even some crazy stairways to nowhere that can be found in the building. Francis Hall History

Yeah, because people in New York, LA, Chicago, and DC don't make money.

Florida's campus has been used in movies as a stand-in for Harvard and other Ivy League universities - Sledd Hall, University Auditorium, and Century Tower in particular for their Gothic revival architecture. Spanish moss was removed from all of the trees that made it into the campus scenes since it doesn't grow up north. Filmmakers were also careful not to film any palm trees.

Century Tower was used in a scene where a kid goes crazy and starts shooting people from the tower.

John Bell Hood's Texas Brigade was in General Longstreet's Corps. The 1st, 4th, and 5th Texas infantry regiments, along with the 3rd Arkansas, saw heavy fighting at Devil's Den and the Peach Orchard.

LSU has an underground tunnel system. We have two big indian mounds where early corndog artifacts were found.

We have the skankiest chicks in the conference.
