at what age should one named Teddy decide it's better to be known as Ted?
cause I think he's passed it -
"Teddy" sounds like the name of the head yell leader at A&M -

Welcome to the SEC Oklahoma.
What I remember about the Big12 in the 2000's is Texas and Oklahoma had their pick of the best recruits in Texas and other states. No one in the Big12 could compete with the kind of offensive and defensive lines you had so you overpowered the rest of the conference.
It took Missouri coach Gary Pinkel six years of program building before he had offensive and defensive lines that could beat Oklahoma in 2010, and Texas in 2011. In 2012 we left for the SEC.
You will find most SEC teams recruit well and have well paid coaches. Oklahoma and Texas may do well but don't be surprised if you find yourself in a knife fight with a team you thought was going to be an easy win. I don't pencil in W's or L's on most teams until the game is over.

And in that padded conference over 20 years beat Bama, Ten, Auburn, barely lost to UGA, owned A&M and Mizzou. Yes, got beat by A&M once, BAma and LSU crushed us, But overall...OU does not deserve this disrespect as Teddy was right about everyone not named Bama/UGA.

Yes. You know what you are talking about. But I would say there are three tiers of talent...based on the rankings.
Bama /UGA
OU Texsa LSU A&M
The rest
Bama /UGA
OU Texsa LSU A&M
The rest

LOL. Going by the talent drafted, the rankings and money they make in the NFL Ole Miss Certainly does NOT have the same level of talent as OU.

Whoever that guy is, he is about to be hilarious to watch over the season as he struggles to grasp why OU isn’t blowing anyone out and the “mid level” conference teams are handling them in the trenches.

First-year coaches usually are just building and getting their feet wet. Unexpected losses to occur. Stoops went 7-5 that year. Saban same in his year 1 a Bama ans Smart also 8-5. That is kind of simplistic to point to losing to MIss St in 1999.

Is this supposed to be a pep talk for Okie fans? Is it supposed to create the illusion that all SEC teams are equal?
History matters. Winning cultures matter.
This clean slate bs should be left behind with the Big 12.

All the negative stuff is based on projection by writers and fans of SEC schools that haven't done anything beyond Bama/UGA of which OU DOESN'T play one of them. Perhaps fans/writers of schools not named Bama/UGA ought to simmer their azzes down a bit.
Can’t wait to see your team get their shite pushed in this fall. Maybe then you soy chugging p@ssies will shut your cock holsters!

I bet you'd be shocked that after hearing three years of this type of talk from SEC people... Teddy Lehman decided to push back.
I'd bet it is about 80% of the Rant that has been claiming that OU and Texas have expressed some variation of this post since it was announced that OU and Texas were coming over.
And of course OU and Texas fans are objecting. Just like fans will do when people mock their teams.
Fortunately we are down to about two months and two weeks before the questions will be answered.
It has been a long time coming.

No. How did Teddy lie? Answer that please. You guys started all this with the disrespect of OKLAHOMA. This is OKLAHOMA man.
Posted on 7/12/24 at 9:39 am to ABearsFanNMS
Then keep quiet if you aren't Bama UGA or LSU. Like Teddy said, what has anyone else done? He didn't lie.

This guy might be the dumbest guy on Twitter.

THe problem is he switched from "schools" to "coaches" and used them interchangeably.
That's muddying the water.
The reality is UGA won a championship as recently as 2022, Bama in 2020 and LSU in 2019. Those are all EXTREMELY recent national titles.
OU won their last title in 2000 and Texas in 2005. In addition to the three above, Auburn and UF have won one or more since then. UT won one in 1998 which is pretty darn close to 2000.
The current batch of SEC coaches hasn't done much, but they also haven't been around long. And he's right that the reason for that has been mostly Bama with a little of UGA squeezing the oxygen out of the room with their success.
But Texas and OU also haven't done much and also have new coaches and they don't have the excuse of dealing with Nick Saban like SEC schools did up until this year.

UGA, Bama, LSU, Auburn, UF and Tennessee (the "big 6") either have titles more recent than OU and Texas or around the same time (Tennessee's was in 1998 compared to 2000 for Oklahoma. That's pretty darn close)
If you're getting crap from Ole Miss or Missouri fans... okay, I'd agree they should probably not chirp.
But the big 6 all have enough room to talk trash if they like.

The others are noobs and/or no jewelry, just like us in the SEC. Has OU recruited towards the top of the SEC? Yes. Revenue towards the top? Yes.
That's why he is saying...why can't OU compete?

He is not wrong. Yes LSU, Auburn, and Florida have won big at times, but all have constantly gone through struggles in between their highs. Texas and OU will find some initial shock and the grind of the schedule, but they are not walking into a conference with an established pecking order they will have to work their way into unless they are expecting Bama/UGA level dominance from day 1.

Last year's talent composite:
1 - Bama
2 - UGA
4 - A&M
6 - Texas
7 - LSU
9 - OU
15 - UF
16 - Tenn
18 - AU
22 - SC
23 - Ole Miss
25 - Mizzou
So based on last year, it checks out. It's important to note it does fluctuate quite a bit though.
In 2016 (Kirby's first year at UGA) it was:
1 - Bama
3 - LSU
6 - UGA
7 - AU
11 - TX
13 - A&M
14 - Tenn
15 - Ole Miss
16 - UF
18 - OU
23 - SC
in the top 25 of overall team talent.

Might as well get used to this. You gonna see a lot of gifs from this game from LSU fans...
