I'm surprised to not see any LSU players on this list. They had some mashers in the 90s.
Trackman started being used for homeruns in 2015. And if you notice, 2015 is the oldest year on the list. They didn't really measure before then.

I think you have 3 trips to the finals, and two trips to the semis, IIRC
4 appearances in the finals, 1 semis. 2 titles and 2 wins short of 2 more.

I stand corrected, my bad.
Hey didn't UF knock y'all out in the semi's that time?
I feel pretty good about that, other than we lost to Carolina in the finals.

Yeah Vanderbilt couldn’t beat Florida that year and Florida couldn’t beat South Carolina.

This is hard to believe considering every home run listed is after the gorilla ball era and after both the bat and ball were toned down. The 1997 LSU team shattered the previous home run record that season finishing several home runs ahead of 1997 Alabama who also surpassed the previous home run record that same season.
It's hard to believe that weren't longer home runs hit by guys like Eddy Furniss and Brandon Larson

USC is the king of baseball Kentucky is the king of basketball Alabama is the king of football
If you’re going to crown a team like USC, who hasn’t been relevant in Baseball in a long time then Yale is your King of Football. Sorry, Bama, They have more national titles than you. If you want to play that game.

good stuff bigD -
didn't wanna start a thread - but yesterday some were lamenting the ACC was undervalued vs and the SEC overvalued -
turns out the Postmortem Pac 12 with Arizona Oregon State & UCLA will put more teams in Omaha than any other conference this summer -
the ACC was not undervalued - even if Duke manages to advance tonight - that conference will only land 2 teams max in Omaha - and Louisville was playing in Omaha before it ever joined the ACC - most notable is all 3 ACC national seeds are out -

I always argued with them over conference superiority, but would give anything to go back to the way things were. I know you can't put the toothpaste back in the tube.

Corbin’s 20 CWS wins are, by far, the most of any active coach.
The most, yes. "By far," no. Schloss has 17 wins in Omaha, and Sully has 19. He's the active wins leader by one.

Arkansas, Clemson, North Carolina: 12
Woof. 60 appearances from these four schools. 0 natties. Florida and miss state finally moved on from this debacle.

Weakest CWS ever coming up.
Only Piggie can keep LSU from backing into another one.

Does anyone know the significance of 1978 and why USC never won again after that season?

Nostalgic for me to see Cal State Fullerton.
When I was a kid….I would have sworn that those dudes lived in Omaha.
