I thought this was interesting.
But out of the teams that knocked the Bammers out of the tourney...
2/6 or 33% won the championship.
3/6 or 50% made the championship game.
4/6 or 66% made it to the Final Four.
5/6 or 83% made it to Sweet 16.
2021: UCLA - Lost in Final Four in OT at Buzzer
2018: Villanova - Champs
2012: Creighton - Lost in 2nd Round
2006: UCLA - Lost in Championship Game
2005: UW-Milwaukee - Sweet 16
2004: Connecticut - Champs
It would have been more interesting if Gonzaga didn't hit that buzzer-beater
An interesting Bama football stat:
Bama's last 10 games vs: LSU 9-1 / AU 8-2 / UTk 10-0

That's a lot to print on a shirt.

The order you have the football records listed in doesn't make any sense.

Well, I'm very happy with the progress our basketball team made. But on to spring practice now. I am excited to learn that Bryce Young is balling out. We're going clown stomp everybody in football again this year.

LSU had a pretty similar stat in football.
Basically from 2006-2012 LSU either played or was the national champion. Would’ve been 8/8 if Auburn didn’t choke in Pasadena against Florida State.
2012 Alabama
2011 Alabama
2010 Auburn
2009 Alabama
2008 Florida
2007 LSU
2006 Florida

Need a big banner to hang in Coleman.
I guess you could hang one banner for each year you got beat by a good team in the regional.

I'm sure they will be hanging a SEC Champs banner. What are you guys hanging this year?

I remember watching LSU basketball as a kid, the Macklin team.
1979 lost in Sweet Sixteen to eventual champ Michigan State
1980 lost in Elite Eight to eventual champ Louisville
1981 lost in Final Four to eventual champ Indiana
As a kid, you lock in on success and don't figure in graduation/attrition, so I "knew" LSU was going to play for the title in 1982 ;
we lost in the first rd of the NIT.
