Nothing of the kind ran in newspapers across the nation about Alabama in 1925 or 1926 because no one considered Alabama to be the national champion of 1925 at the time. Alabama 1925 was not a 1925 "national champion" until 1941, when the Helms Foundation selected them retroactively. This is a point Alabama football historians and bloggers fail to grasp. They like to say that the Rose Bowl was a "de facto" national championship game in the 1920s, which is silly, given that the Big 10, Notre Dame, and most major Eastern teams refused to play in it by 1925. Had there been an AP poll in 1925, neither Washington nor Alabama would have been ranked as one of the top 2 teams before the game-- more like #5 vs. #13. The Rose Bowl was just another game between 2 good teams

Yeah, uhm, the guy that wrote that wrote on the same page that Bama was 1925 co-national champions with Dartmouth. Maybe you should go back to posting how much money you allegedly make

Just trying to educate some gumps.

Yeah yeah, I know, a monumental and hopeless task at best when dealing with such mind boggling ignorance in the first place.

From "that guy"

There is no question that Dartmouth was much more impressive than Alabama, which is why they were considered the mythical national champion at the time

More like trying to convince yourself. Look, you chose who you pulled for, stop blaming Bama for your misfortune. War Eagle!

AU was 8-0 in 1913 outscoring opponents 224-13

AU was also 8-0 in 1914 outscoring opponents 193-0

Also 9-0-1 in 1958 after 10-0 in 1957.

Also 11-0 in 1993.

frick it, 9 national championships for AU. All undefeated seasons except 1983 which is a no-brainer anyway.

Except for the fact that Alabama has 9 selections for 1925 while Dartmouth only has 2.

And Alabama could claim more if we used the alleged criteria that AU fans like you suggest that we do.

No you tried to say that Bama was stupid for claiming 1925 and the expert you used to prove this actually agree that Bama should claim 1925 so you got pwned there chief. Seriously though tell us more about your six figure salary with bonuses. Is it quarterly or monthly?

Only giving us credit for 3 is fricking bullshite. I don't agree with all 6 that we claim,1967 is kinda wtf, but I strongly agree with the other 5.
