Something to do with pitching practice out of season or something like that.
It may have been just a small technicality to can him.

I can't imagine what infractions other than procedural ones the baseball team has committed. If they 'cheated' and we're still that bad, a lot of people need to lose their jobs.

From everything I've read, Auburn didn't do anything wrong. They were looking for a reason to fire him, and found one. He needs to suck it up and stock being an a-hole to everyone. Oklahoma was pretty happy to get rid of the prick.

Can someone tell me what rules the guy broke?

He had his pitching coach working with the pitchers during the summer, which is against NCAA rules. JJ asked Sunny about this and Sunny denied it. Sunny did not know that somebody had filmed it and JJ had a copy in his possession.

ETA It is standard issue that a contract is voided when a coach breaks NCAA rules. Like JJ said "We aren't going to pay you a dime, brother".

Thanks for that breakdown.

Other than grasping at straws...reason Pearl was called out by his lawyer? Pearl hit on SGs wife or something? Ha

He's an arse. He wouldn't allow the Bama baseball team to practice batting prior to their game with Auburn, lest we forget. AU should countersue him and for once I will be cheering them on.

That lawyer could've left this part out... Pretty classless.

Officially it was making pitchers work with the assistant coaches during the summer which is a violation of NCAA rules and refusing to let visiting teams have access to the field and facilities that he was letting us use, another NCAA violation.

Unofficially it was refusing to honor scholarships promised by himself, refusing to pay the volunteer coaches for camps that make most of their salary off of said camps, and being a general a-hole to everyone.

This team has 0 sophomores on it and few freshman. The top 10 class that the lawsuit is propping up is only a top 10 class based on numbers. We brought in 17-18 new guys this year alone.

If people in Alabama actually cared about college baseball this would be a good post

Alabama does. Hell Auburn does. It's just been too long since Alabama was relavent under Jim Wells and Auburn under Hal Baird. Both programs were very good in the 1990s.

Alabama hasn't done shite since last winning the SEC in 2006. Building a new facility is a start, but attendance was top ten in the nation even before this season. You have to provide a winner at some point to bring the fans back.

I'm sure there's a letter from AU to the NCAA self reporting these violations. Shouldn't be hard to find.

I sincerely hope this line was delivered in his best Hulk Hogan voice.
