Hand UGA the conf championship already. A 2.5 game lead with 7 games to play and they get to play 1x Mizz and 3x corndog is an insurmountable lead.

Bama has to show up next weekend. A series win likely seals them hosting,

This guy is a good follow if you like baseball. He goes into detail.

Kendall Rogers
@KendallRogers

I'll have much more on @AuburnBaseball later today. A few thoughts for now:

1 - Really impressed with Auburn's offensive length in the doubleheader. Felt like they were locked in offensively 1-9, and even having a versatile guy like Bristol Carter at the bottom is such a luxury.

2 - The knock against AU had been the lack of slug, and that looked like a powerful lineup yesterday. A lot of VERY hard hit balls - the top of the lineup, in particularly, crushed the baseball. Something to watch moving forward.

3 - Really impressed with Andreas Alvarez (on and off the field). Showed excellent stuff, SL gave RHH absolute fits, and he carried 94-97 throughout his seven-inning start. A lot of 97s in the win over the Aggies. Was also excellent in post game.

4 - Love the contrasting styles of arms with Alvarez, and then going to Jake Marciano/Jackson Sanders in the second game. Sat behind home plate for a bit, and it's very difficult to figure out what Marciano is throwing out of his hand. When you can mix and match multiple pitches, and the release looks the same, really difficult to square (as you could see by a lot of weak A&M hits). Sanders was up to 94 from the left side and showed some serious moxie.

5 - Freshman Ethin Bingaman is really locked in. Some excellent at bats throughout the day, and once again showed big-time power (after hitting multiple homers in a game last weekend). Chase Fralick also showed out - he absolutely destroyed the baseball in both ends of the doubleheader.

6 - Something I always love looking for - clubhouse/bar fight vibe. Auburn has that. Super loose team that has a lot of fun, but also is very intense in-game as well. An extremely likable group of players/coaches.

Better have good pitching vs Auburn. They are hot. Having that late season momentum where everything is coming together.

Hopefully we can pull one out today.

I'm not sure we can maintain yesterday's level of offense but I expect it to be a fun game. The weather looks perfect.

Congrats on win yesterday

Man, yesterday was such a buzzkill for me. I was thinking with our ace pitching we might take game 2 and move solidly in the top section of a tough and crowded conf.

We score 2 in B1 and I’m pumped headed to 2nd up 2-0. But then Cam Johnson has a sore knee and can’t start 2nd inning. It was a huge blow. And then it just all fell apart. Our relievers walked and hit batters and next thing you know its 6-2 Florida. A promising game just went south that fast.

We both need today’s win to get a game separation in a tightly bunched conf. We’ll throw our true freshman pitcher and see what happens.

I really enjoy the conf play. Separate from records its really great baseball. Pure fun youngsters. Best venues. Great fanbases throughout conf. And its awesome to have a board like this with fans of all teams able to discuss sports. Never had that in B12. Its not even comparable.

Here’s to a great rubber match today. At least we had chamber of commerce weather this series. This is stormy time of year and we got lucky. Not too hot either.

Yup, we went 1-2 vs them but damn their pitching is good. We only managed 10 runs in 3 games vs them and they scored 21 on us. Our only win was a 2-1 great pitching duel.

In a pretty good place to win with Petro on the bump. Hopefully the offense stays up. Other than that Cam Johnson start last weekend the offense has been remarkable lately.

That Cam start was the oddest scoreless 5 2/3 I’ve seen in a while. Seems like every hitter worked a 3-0 or 3-1 count and he’d just battle back and put them away (or walk them).
