Yeah I was thinking the same thing. It’s not overly concerning because most of these guys either won’t pitch in that role going forward and/or have been shutdown guys in every other appearance
Yesterday was Davis’ first career college start and Brown has gone 7 IP, 0 R, 3 H, 8 K since his blowup. I think we’ve seen enough from Finley over the last couple years to know he will probably be fine too.
Not so sure on Zeldin and Quinn, but I honestly kind of see them as early relief inning eaters at this point. Zeldin kinda struggled down the stretch last year.
Overall though I feel really good about a Kolten/Finley/Goldstein rotation with our bullpen.
I think it says a lot that our most trusted reliever last year is probably 7th or 8th this year. I’d put Curley, Davis, Stephens, Hammond, Hoskins, and Radtke ahead of him right now
Speaking of Radtke, he touched 95 last night. Could’ve sworn he topped out at 90 last year.

Even if our current starters give up 1 or 2 runs in the first, it’s negligible with our pen and bats. It’s these big innings out of the gate that are getting egregious. Lacking a tone setter on the mound to start games (and when we have one, like Goldstein was yesterday for a couple of innings, we dominate).

You two should go on a double date with OU Guy and Soonerd.

For some reason, Sully & Florida get more unfounded disrespect than other teams. Ever since Sully became the Florida coach they’ve been the most consistent team in the SEC. They’ve won the SEC 6 times since 2010 and been to the CWS 9 times. That’s pretty damn impressive.

so Arizona already beat A&M and State? That’s gonna help them come tourney time, esp if they beat Tennessee
