USC is not one of the wealthiest schools in the nation. And it's certainly not wealthier than TAMU.

Everything else you said is true, though.

No, I acknowledge money matters. I just don't think it matters as much as some think simply because we're not talking about the ability of Iowa State to lure away Nick Saban from Bama, we're talking about a rich football program's ability to lure away a coach from another rich football program. USCw can throw just as much money as A&M at Sumlin. The only real factor there is which program decides he's being priced too high for his value first. It's like the Texas thing -- they can throw $20 million a year at Saban, but they're not going to...and neither will Bama.

Haden hired Kiffin but is unscathed in all of this (so far). Everyone here knew Kiffin was a train wreck waiting to happen. How could he not have known? Did he learn nothing at Oxford?

ETA - never mind. Garrett hired him before his departure as AD

Same argument Cuban made about why free agents want to come to Dallas.. Which has worked out...

You need to substitute the phrase "is willing to" for "can."

Once you do the statement reads false.

This, but Sarkisian seems plausible.

A former A&M coach will take the job at USC. All USC needs to do is travel about 300 miles north.

His name is Tim DeRuyter and he was Mike Sherman's DC.

Also, he has never lost as A&M's head coach (1-0)

I don't think Sumlin will go to USC for two reasons - one, he is coaching in the SEC which he has always wanted. And two, USC is on probation. However, if Hyman doesn't handle this better than he did last year with Sumlin's raise...

Then the man could leave. I really don't like how Hyman is doing, and hopefully the boosters have let Sumlin know he can have whatever he needs. The AD isn't going to do it.

at the end of the day, we simply won't be outbid by another CFB program.

And yet, you have never outbid anyone in your past.

Why did you not spend the money when Slocum, Fran, or Sherman left?

I really think Del Rio is going to be the guy USC chooses at the end of the day, he went there and is doing a great job with the Broncos as DC, my dark horse pick would be if the Eagles tank the rest of the season, would Chip Kelly consider a move back to college? Him combined with USC's resources would be deadly and the PAC 12's worst nightmare IMO

Too much fail. Go back and read about how we got Sherrill. Bo, from Michigan, was going to come and changed his mind last minute. Sherrill came, we broke the bank.

He became the first coach to sign a million dollar contract. Multiple outlets were mad about this.

Getting to Sumlin, his contacts and working career are in and around Texas. TAMU would step up to pay anything USC did. School knows how much money he has made TAMU and that he is a good fit.

If Franklin doesn't take this job, he's not going anywhere. Cake job. Easier conference, vast resources, huge fan base, amazing prestige. Arguably easiest job in college football when you don't have penalties.

..i am a....um...hard to admit...a jaguars fan...and he was actually a good coach when he was in JAX just never was given the right resources from the front office to succeed...I think he would be great in the college game...
