I think UF fans are happy either way...

Kinda weird that Sunbelt Billy might make the playoffs before Sumerall ( JMU is 7-0 in the SunBelt Conference and currently a playin team team)

UF keeps playing well and gets a shot to knock off my Dawgs on Halloween...

Win win for Gators...

He hired a damn OC if he would have just done that in Gainesville he would probably still be here. Man could recruit. He just was the shittiest play caller in the country and wouldn’t give it up.

JMU has a good shot but if Boise wins out I think they’ll be the G6 representative and I would be surprised if 2 G6 schools make it again this year

Thanks for your concern in the football program, we root for. The football program you root for is currently much better at football than ours.
I did thoroughly enjoy watching that Russian Alex Golesh beat UGA in a great game of American football. This past Saturday, as did most of America.

I think his point is, Sumrall already made the playoffs with Tulane.

Now, Billy might get there with JMU before Sumrall does with Florida.

Which raises an interesting question; would a coach rather take one of the premier G6 jobs (Tulane, JMU, Boise) and GET a playoff appearance, or take a midlevel P4 job and try to build and win IN the playoffs?

Indiana won it all, Ole Miss made a run, but otherwise it's been hard to break through the top of the SEC and Big 10.

Does this mean to you that sunbelt Billy is a better coach than other coaches who do not make the playoffs, if your scenario of James Madison makes it and Florida does not. Do you think James Madison would beat a Florida team that just upset Texas? Would James Madison be favored in any game vs any SEC team. Sumrall has already dom more than Billy even if Texas and Arch Manning are richly richly overrated.

Cignetti and Chensey set the JMU table for that clown.

His recruiting is overrated too. Many holes were left on the roster.

I don't think they'll do that again. The backlash was terrible after they got blown out with Notre Dame and Pavia's 2 loss SEC Dores at home.

ETA:

Honestly, they should scrap that bullshite altogether with 24 teams. If a G6 team is good enough, they should just be ranked in the top 24. No autobids.

Probably not

I think so
Arkansas and Vandy for sure. Might be a few others.

Not sure what you're getting so fired up about; I pointed out Sumrall got to the playoffs before Sunbelt Billy did (Sumrall did it at Tulane).

I raised the question that up and coming coaches may want a premier G6 job, over a mid-tier P4 job.

JMU is dramatically outspending the rest of the Sun Belt, they will roll through that conference. If they lose a game it would be a huge upset.

They had Curt Cignetti, who was dominant there and moved on to Indiana, and has now won a natty in two appearances, will likely get another (appearance) this season.

They followed him with Bob Chesney, dominant there and made the playoffs, now moved on to UCLA . UCLA is 6-0, has 1 ranked opponent left on schedule, and that's #16 USC in a rivalry game. They also have a road game vs Michigan left. Almost certain that they will be in the playoffs.

JMU is 7-0, if they make the playoffs, does someone take Billy?
If he hadn't been at Florida before, I'd say absolutely. But that time in Gainesville may prevent it.

Billy belongs in a smaller program. Some coaches def do not work at big schools, but do well at smaller programs with less stuff you have to carrle about. He was not goof at UF at all, but at a small school he could do well. As long as he never calls plays.

There is a decent chance, but it mostly highlights how stupid the G5 AQ is.

Some team will just get an easy win.

The reason some coaches fail is because they are hard headed and refuse to change.Napier said after being let go he made a mistake not having a OC to call plays. One of the reasons ED O failed at OM was he said after he was fired is he micromanaged the coaches and didn’t let them do their jobs. His first 3 years at LSU he let his coaches coach and he was successful. After that he just quit.Les Miles refused to change his offensive philosophy to keep up with the times ,and kept running against 8 man fronts.Sarks inability to adjust his offense to Mannings skills will be his undoing.

It might just be about levels of play. FarTch Manning would look like Joe Burrow at Amherst.

I would be conflicted if I was a Florida fan right now, which is one of the many reasons I thank god I'm not a Florida fan.

On one hand, the new coach already has two top 10 wins. But on the other, he's already gotten blown out by two our your old SEC East little brothers. Getting beat to sleep by South Carolina and Missouri in the same season will never be easy to stomach for Florida fans.
