Gotta admit...I was wondering the same thing.

Cause the guy says shite like......

Gay or not.....this guy is a vet and served your country...
Look, people appreciate the service the men and women do that have served our country. I have 2 brothers, an uncle and a grandfather that served. It’s awesome....
But, this guy tries to rub it in everyone’s nose in every single thread....constantly talking about himself and how he served and what people should do for him because he served. As if the name didn’t already give it away.
Now, I didn’t serve, but those I know that did, have more respect then to stick it in everyone’s face or feel some kind of entitlement

You get shite because you're an a-hole who expects everyone to suck your dick because you served. People like you give vets a bad name

I agree.

Okay. It just seemed excessive. I mean everybody was jumping on him. But, I wasn't defending him so much as wondering why everybody was piling on. I am not familiar with him. I will say, though, that it seems when people bring stuff like that up all the time, it is usually not true.

I never served, either. I did miss Vietnam by a whisker, though. I would have gone had I been drafted, but I sure am glad I wasn't. I graduated the year we finished pulling out.

People don’t run from the idea of the military because they are scared. They don’t sign up because they have much better options than making $24,000 a year.
I graduated with a computer science degree so I had many better options other than accepting a Navy commission coming out of college.
Many graduates with advance degrees join organizations such as the Peace Corps or other low-salaried (or volunteer) organizations. Some of these same kinds of people choose to take employment in poor areas of inner cities to server the less-fortunate.
So, yes, though many people as you say *do* choose the lure of $$$ over and above the call of duty, country, and/or service, many do not.
And, yes, though there are "1.4 million people in the military" and that in and of itself is not a small number, compared to the population of the country it is a rather small percentage. And when you take into account that the military isn't signing/recruiting/commissioning 1.4 million per year but a MUCH smaller number than that just to "maintain" their overall number, the comparative percentage becomes much, much smaller.
(And also, though the number is likely statistically small, there are without a doubt some yellow-bellied cowards out there that would pee their pants at the thought of serving one day in the military. And that number is likely growing considering the number of delicate-flower millennials being produced by our SJW factory colleges.)

You think it's easy dragging old hags across the street?
Some didn't want to go, but frick 'em, I had a job to do.
