Johnny Manziel and 2 other first rounders put up 10 points on the worst LSU defense in years.

Johnny attempted 35 passes the next week vs Mizzou with a broken hand?

Just give up.

Well, he did say last few seasons so.....

2008 they were very good.
2007 they were absolute shite.
2006 they were mediocre

You really just throw shite at the wall and hope it sticks, don't you?

blogs are blogs. i'm sure we can find 'em that says he's the worst DC in the country too. i'm positive steele will fall somewhere between the greatest and the worst. anything other than that is uncertain.

It's not, and Chavis by all accounts will get your defense down into that range before long. If someone claims he's not a good coordinator they are full of shite.

The prevent defense thing is very real though.

If a team wants to win championships, he's not the guy. If your team runs primarily "up tempo" offense, he's not the guy. Show me some examples where he has succeeded with that type of offense. That will be his challenge this year. He will have to do it with significantly less talent than he's had in years.

I'm also wondering why the aggy homers are posting in this thread. Is anyone thinking that Chavis should have been mentioned on the list for which this thread is about?

Chavis would be #14 or whatever is the bottom of that list.

LSU Defenses against Power 5 Opponents

2005 4.0 (3) .23 (8) 27.6 (3)

2007 4.2 (5) .29 (22) 35.1 (24)
2008 4.9 (45) .37 (60) 32.5 (16)
2009 4.6 (17) .22 (8) 36.7% (36)
2010 4.9 (26) .29 (19) 33.3 (8)
2011 4.0 (2) .16 (2) 36.8 (36)
2012 4.3 (7) .24 (10) 31.5 (9)
2013 5.1 (34) .32 (34) 39.5 (63)
2014 4.9 (26) .28 (17) 37.16 (33)

Considering the embarrassment of riches on the 2011-12 teams, I'm not particularly upset with Chavis moving on based on these statistics and the numerous collapses at the end of halves (and games).

So, aTm, this is what $1.7 million gets you.
