You did worse. You diagnosed a medical situation from a TV clip and slandered those actually on scene. Congrats.
Ok. Got it. The mouth breathers want this thread for themselves.
The truth will probably come out and I doubt it will be favorable for State.
Player violently goes helmet to helmet with another player, then his head slams the turf, then he stumbles and struggles to get up then wobbles to the sideline where he falls over and Mississippi State spokesman says he didn't pass out, he was just "woozy". Great, so his brain injury wasn't severe enough to cause him to lose consciousness, it was only bad enough to make him dizzy for a few minutes. How is this any better?

Here’s what I saw- Players has a violent collision and there’s clearly a head slamming action. He stumbles to get up and walks over to the bench and there’s something very obviously wrong with him, prompting several staff memebers to come check on him and then his knees get weak and he falls.
The reporter on the sidelines said he momentarily lost consciences and his eyes rolled back in his head. But as the other posters have pointed out- she didn’t attend medical school so she’s not s valid person to witness something.
Even though she made no diagnosis, just stated an observation.
But yeah it probably wasn’t a concussion. I’m interested to see what the other several things it could have been are.

Awesome! Do me a favor then- using the siation that jus thaolened tk the player, the eye witnesses description and then the corresponding actions please enlighten us all with the several things that it could have been. I’m legitimately intrigued.
Never seen someone faint I guess?
Right off the bat, vasovagal syncope is the leading candidate. Something triggers a brief drop in blood pressure from some trigger, which can be something physical or mental. The person gets light headed and typically goes down. About the time they hit the ground, pressure starts coming back up and the lights start coming back on. Ever been working in the yard on a really hot day, stand up really fast from a bent over position, and feel your head swim a little? That’s it in a mild form. Push a little harder and you will do stumble a few steps and face plant. You’d probably be shocked at the number of people that experience a full lights out version getting up off the toilet.
Throw in a little dehydration and it can happen even to someone in excellent physical condition. Alabama had a player “fall out” while standing on the sideline doing nothing in the title game last January.
We run these calls all the time. Happens a lot in churches, at outdoor events, etc. By the time we get on scene they are usually pissed off that someone even called 911. We give them a quick eval, the medic may put them on the cardiac monitor for a peek, advise them about risks, hydration, etc and that’s about it. We almost never end up transporting and most often the victim goes right back to doing whatever they were doing before the event.
Low blood sugar can cause those same symptoms. That’s unlikely at his age and situation- I’m confident they fed the team well.

You continue to make a diagnosis based on nothing more than a TV image.
You are being the very definition of a mouth breather.

Jesus. Open your eyes, man. Aren't you trained to gather information that's readily available to help with making a diagnosis?
A patient who just had two violent blows to his head and you're thinking maybe he fainted from anxiety or had low blood sugar? I really hope you're better at your job than you are coming across tonight.

He got hit in the nuts. Holly would t know anything about that. That’s a nutcracker collapse not a head injury collapse.

Losing consciousness or not, I fail to see how any doctor would clear someone that just collapsed for whatever reason to go back into a physical game like football that fast. You can’t make that judgement call on why he passed out in 5 minutes in a sideline tent.

Real question from that video is where is Molly and how could she see his eyes roll back then collapse if she isn’t in the shot and he has a helmet on looking down?

Moorehead is a POS for putting in him just because he was down a score at the end of the game. MSU deserves him.

quote:It’s not the “leading candidate” he and the defender run headfirst into eachother and then Kylin immediately starts displaying symptoms of a head injury. As a trained professional you would know that some of the main symptoms of a concussion are temporary loss of consciousness, loss of balance and unsteady walking and dizziness (feeling dazed).
Right off the bat, vasovagal syncope is the leading candidate.
You would also know that one of the main causes of a concussion is violent blow to your head and neck or upper body can cause your brain to slide back and forth forcefully against the inner walls of your skull.
But yeah. He probably just got low blood pressure at the exact moment where he experience a violent helmet to helmet hit. For sure not a head injury, probably just needs some water right?
Clown.

He’s looking at what actually happened. Your just saying “Oh this is why most people faint, probably why he did too”
Jesus, be better man.

All he said was that those are serious sysmptons and that he should have received a thorough medical evaluation.

I had 3-4 concussions when I played football and never missed more than a few plays. These are grown men, not babies. Stop coddling them

He faked it trying to get the targeting call. He was perfectly fine that is why he was cleared. It still didn't work. They wouldn't have taken a second look had he not fake stumbled. They still didn't call the targeting because we got the shaft and have all year.

and you, admittedly NOT a doctor, are screaming on the internet that Hill did not receive a thorough medical evaluation.
Please tell us why, in your professional opinion, you are so mad online that you felt the need to slander the good names of the medical staff on the sidelines? And the good names of the refs, since they have the ability to remove a player who is obviously suffering.

ESPN sideline reporter Molly McGrath said on the game telecast moments after Hill went down. “His eyes rolled into the back of his head. I was standing right there. He lost consciousness for a moment. Medical training staff awoke him, they tried to keep him alert as all of his teammates knelt beside him.”
lol, she came out with a completely different post game report. She jumped to conclusions. Pat Forde even called her out on it.
