Starkville is the worst P5 college town in America

Pullman, Washington
Corvallis, Oregon
Ames, Iowa
Lubbock, Texas
Would have to be on this list well, but they trump Starkville just for the sheer fact that they're not in Mississippi. Fwiw the aforementioned colleges listed also have a more storied football history than Mississippi State.
Just something to think about on this Monday afternoon

Of the 5 places you listed, how many have you personally visited?

Come on, everyone makes an annual visit to Pullman and Ames. You don't?

Can't say too much about the other locations on the list but Starkville is much better than Lubbock imo

Have you ever been to those places? Ames is nice. Starkville is better than Lubbock.
I feel like I have heard good things about Corvalis. Don't know anything about Pullman.

It's consistently named as one of the best small towns. Ames > Oxford.

At least they don't host lynchings in Starkville.

From what I have read the worst thing about Lubbock and Pullman is that they are so isolated from society. Also, both are in treeless dry desert type regions. Would probably make me kill myself.

Most people don't know what makes a good "college town" Lawrence is one of the best yet doesn't get much credit. Ames is also pretty cool.

Starkville is the worst one that I've been to.

I've been to all 5. Lubbock is better than Starkville. I know we all have SEC bias and whatnot but Starkville is terrible. Delta State in Cleveland is a much better college environment

Pullman is incredibly isolated. Practically in Idaho, no cities for hundreds of miles.
Starkville is laughably shitty, but I'd rather live there. I can handle what is basically just a small town with nothing to offer. At least I can drive to cities. Pullman is in the wilderness, it'd be like you're on an island
