I am not a big fan either. I mean the atmosphere and all that is great but don't like the town
Yea. I like the school, the stadium is great, fun place, it's just one of those in-between sized towns that isn't quite a city like Nashville but is too big to be even a "big" college town like Tuscaloosa.

Ehh.. Fair enough, I guess. Wright Thompson is the worst.

Lubbock Texas is the most depressing city I think I've ever been too. The people there seem sad too.

The difference is that people like Oxford and want to be there.
No the difference is people from State and Starkville admit what it is. And embrace it. OM fans and oxfarts dream up something that isn't there. And people actually from somewhere nice laugh at them. I guess if you're from shitholes, maybe oxfart seems special. Lots of shitholes in Mississippi. But the difference is true down to earth Mississippians love their shitholes. Oxfarts make up fantasy land to forget they are from what they believe to be shithole places, thus in their minds, making them better than the other people.

Yea, it always makes me laugh that Ole Miss people seem to hate Thompson more than anyone, and yet ESPN trots him out as the great scribe of the gentile Southerner.
I mean, they had him talking about New Orleans for that 10 year anniversary piece like he was born and raised there. They have him talk Ole Miss so often and don't even mention that HE WENT TO MISSOURI, but it's cool because he and his dad went to games together. Wow, how incredible, nobody else did that.

Compared to Oxford, Starkville is full of crime

Oxford is what every subscriber of Southern Living thinks a small town should be. Personally, I find it a little plastic and contrived. Starkville seems more like you typical southern small town.
Both of them are miles better than Lubbuttocks.

If you would not have used the word Oxfart your post would not have been that bad.

It's weird how Iowa Hawkeye fans will say Ames is shite.
Guess that rivalry stuff is real.
Tallahassee is a shite hole for real though.

FWIW, nobody who likes Oxford expects you to like it, and we already know how much its popularity bothers you.
To each his own. If you prefer a town like Starkville that's your prerogative. You do you, bruh :fistbump:.

Most cities are typically judged by the amount of real estate investment and development occurring in the city coupled with growth in property value. Oxford has millions of dollars being invested into current and future real estate projects. Whereas, Starkville is a quintessential no wealth underdeveloped Mississippi podunk town. :In before tractors are expensive:

Many of you are forgetting about Stillwater, OK and Manhattan, KS.
