It didn't just grow in scope. JW and some other influential boosters at another program fed the NCAA crap to keep them around in hopes of finding something. The NCAA got so many complaints it opened up a full investigation into AU as a whole.

I don't think in the history of the NCAA has any program come out like AU did.
