Never forget 1985 when the 12th man was so fricking loud the refs decided to delay the game to give Texas the ability to actually run a play … imagine what Death Valley will be like for them

We handled playing in the Shoe just fine. I think we'll be okay.

It’s easy to get up for one game a year. Can your team consistently do it for 3-4 road games a year at that level? My bet is no, but we will see.

I've sat 3rd row at two Alabama/LSU games in Death Valley. I loved every minute of it, especially the tailgating, fans, & the food. Tiger Stadium was impressive & loud but they weren't even the loudest games I have been to. I think we will be alright

They'd be used to it so I'd imagine so.
The larger the crowd, the more deafening the silence.

So are you such a homer you believe OU/TU will do better playing in more intense and hostile environments 4x a year than they do a single game in the b12? Your only comparative road environment in conference is the Red River and that’s a 50/50 fan split. Even a homer if homers would look and say “yeah this is going to be a challenge for a few years.”

And both schools lost the last time they played there

I do think it will help to some extent, not situationally in a game, but as far as getting up for a game...hell yes.

OU has technically sold out about as much as anyone in the country, until Covid. For big games they squeeze an additional couple of thousand in. They have had an expansion on the West side of the stadium ready for a decade or more. The SEC entry may very well kick that off.
At least it has been on the drawing boards. As a contributor to the OU club, I saw the drawings and plans.
the five seasons I had season tickets for aTm, while my son attended, I never heard about an expansion. As soon as they joined the SEC they came up with one pretty quick
OU's issue is they have a lazy student section and they have a lot of multi-genration season ticket holders that have been fickle about attending games such as Kansas and pre-Briles Bailor. That may change also

I think part of the reason the Aggies left the Big 12 was that the Aggie football team bus was filled with human excrement while at TTU and they had to drive back to college station in that. The flying tortillas were not to bad it is the batteries that get you.

The Shoe doesn’t trap the noise inside the stadium.

The recent work at Owen Field was not to increase seat number but to make the stadium better in amenities and layout.

How in the hell does Iowa State have the third largest stadium in a P5 conference? That has to be the smallest 3rd largest stadium in the P5 right?

OU players had black ink squirted on them by the tortilla throwers at TT. Last game there, the TT band escorted the OU band off the field to protect them from the TT fans.

Y’all need to learn how to quote someone else’s post.

There are multiple phases. The most recent, actually decreased the official capacity in that they provided hand rails on the West side for ADA compliance. With that, they added better wifi on that side.
There are at minimum two more phases. OU added some seats with closing the South end, which some "experts" said could not be done because of the different piches caused by the South end being over the Switzer Center. OU is not without plans
