Auburn is a bad hire away from being stuck in the South Carolina/Ole Miss/State/Arky/UK tier of the SEC. Will be interesting to see how their fans cope.

Make up your minds Ole Miss. Are you glad he's leaving, because he sucks, or are you glad he's staying, because he's awesome? Pick one. You can't keep having it both ways. Man up and make a choice, live with the consequences.

He sign that extension yet?

Excuse me here…. But are we just going to ignore that OM just had to give a hearty raise and extension to a coach who just shite the bed in the second half of a fairly easy schedule?

And other people are accused of being gullible?

I don't have a clue. But it's asinine to take those 4 names off the board (two which were never really on our radar) and suggest that there is nobody left to hire that could do a good job.

The answer is somewhere in between

And I don’t have to “pick” anything just because some dipshit from DeWitt Arkansas demanded I did on the internet

I agree with the right hire

The fact remains - outside of three outlier seasons, Auburn has been pedestrian at best since 2007.

Freeze is off the table too?

Definitely not.

But if Auburn wanted Freeze it would be done by now, because Freeze has made it abundantly clear he wants the job.

Auburn is seeing if they can land someone better than Freeze, and that’s looking less and less likely everyday.

I don't disagree with you.

Auburn doesn't seem to built for consistency, but we do have a very high ceiling.

I don’t disagree with you but that’s not what I said. I said “seen as a massive failure”

It is going to be very difficult to come out of this not looking really bad. Maybe you find someone under the radar that will pan out in time, but it’s almost guaranteed that the fanbase is going to be pissed off.

Deion would be a splash but I don’t think there is any reason to believe he’d actually be a good coach.

Not sure that's the case. I think they are floating his name to see what kind of blowback there'd be.

I'm fine with Freeze. FWIW

Want something to laugh about? Consider this.

Kiffin went 8-4 with Ole Miss this year.

They did not win or even tie for the SEC west.

They lost 4 out of the last 5 games.

Their signature wins were over a 7-5 Kentucky team and Troy.
They got skull dragged by one of the worst Arkansas teams in the last 30 years.

And despite all that, Jimmy Sexton played your asses into massively upgrading Kiffin's pay. And of course, his commission as well.

Now that's funny.

I'm glad Kiffin is staying and have said so from the beginning. Just because some message board posters freaked out for week doesn't mean the AD and fan base don't want him.
