You believe this? How was Saban a "cultural fit", Bertman? Geezus you Ags are delusional. How'd your last game against LSU work out? Could not beat a moron from Larose.
Yep, LSU finally got a good coach and they know it so they’re resigned to talking about “fit.” It’s hilarious and completely asinine

Jimbo is a good coach and a good recruiter. Don't really understand why he is underperforming right now, but it won't last forever.

cultural fit is going to be a lot more of a problem than most LSU fans think
In all seriousness, the coach is the culture, and the only culture that matters is a winning one. The last three LSU coaches couldn't have been more different and they all won NCs.

Funny 8&4 wants to talk about LSU’s new coach but not the game from last Saturday

Because he’s at A&M. Jameis was also his Burrow. Jimbo has always been severely overrated

LSU has had the following coaches:
Paul Dietzel - Ohio
Mike Archer - Pennsylvania
Gerry Dinardo - New York
Nick Saban - West Virginia
Les Miles - Ohio
In other sports...
Skip Bertman - Michigan
SMoke Laval - Pennsylvania
Paul Mainieri - West Virginia
Jay Johnson - California
Press Maravich - Pennsylvania
Dale Brown - New York
Trent Johnson - California
More times than not, LSU head coaches have been from regions far away from South Louisiana or even the southeast, and most of whom had never coached in the area prior to coming to LSU.

The media always gets it wrong. Do we need to rehash all of the insider rumors?

Is Nick Saban a good cultural fit in Alabama? He looks down on those inbred gumps. He blasted their asses two weeks ago on his radio show. The whole cultural fit thing is dumb. Quit saying it.
The only cultural fit that matters is winning. Orgeron was the best "cultural fit" LSU has had in any sport in the history of the program, and look how quickly the fans turned on him once he stopped winning.

Well for once A&M fans and LSU fans are in total agreement:
Are we? They seem very upset Woodward may have kicked the tires but didn’t offer Jimbo.

99% of LSU fans didn’t want Jimbo in the first place.

cultural fit
This truly is retarded. Is Nick Saban a good cultural fit in Alabama? He looks down on those inbred gumps. He blasted their asses two weeks ago on his radio show. The whole cultural fit thing is dumb. Quit saying it.
Then why in the ever-loving frick was it played up so much among LSU fans and the media when Orgeron was hired?
"For a coach to be able to survive the up-and-done nature of a high-profile job, it helps if he is a strong cultural fit with that Power 5 program. From his roots in Louisiana and his undying love for all things LSU football, Orgeron encapsulates what it means to be LSU football more than any other would-be coaching candidate on the market."
5 reasons Ed Orgeron is a home run hire for LSU football
"If there was ever a top program that would accept the red-faced 58-year-old Cajun with the gravelly accent as a proper cultural fit, it is this one, nestled between mossy University Lake and the banks of the Mighty Mississippi.
Ed Orgeron is right at home in leading LSU to the top
"After the disappointment in the hire, I truly believe that LSU has come to appreciate the job that he has done here. As someone who loves the state, as someone who appreciates what the Tigers are, Ed Orgeron could not be a better fit for this job. Of course, it might not be hard to agree now that the Tigers are 4-0 and Top 5 on the year, but he always was right for it, even when he struggled. With him being born in Larose and a graduate from Northwestern State in Natchitoches, you can’t find a coach better fit for the culture of his school. And maybe that was never argued, but that fit is what lead us to where we are now. The players love their coach and the coach loves his players, and that might just be the difference in a one-point victory."

If the whole "cultural fit" thing is truly dumb, then LSU fans were the biggest fricktards of all 5 years ago.

How is a cultural fit relevant?

Kelly was option 3
That’s one hell of a list of coaches Scotty had
It really was a hell of a list, and Kelly was a very good, though costly, hire.

That’s the Texas 8&4 effect.
Let’s put Lewis Hamilton in a dodge neon and see how great he looks against the field. There’s only so much that even great talent can do when it’s hamstrung with inferior tools.

To justify LSU hiring a, 10-25 record @ Ole Miss, Shrimp Boat Captain
It was easy to play up the "he's one of us", rather than accepting the fact that "Eaux" is garbage.

quote:He was a bargain basement/rummaging through the second hand bin hire. We had so horribly dorked up trying to recruit Jimbo Fisher and Tom Herman that we had to put on our best face for him. He is a good representation of Louisiana culture, no denying that. But he is not even remotely a good head football coach. We struck lightning with a talented roster and good coordinators and staff. That is all there is to it.
