I took down Clowney like the little bitch that he was. I was the quarterback for mmbmqmffb high school and I just ran him over. He waited until I announced my college choice before he made his so he could make sure he never had to face me again in the regular season.

True story.

Played against Robert Davis (Homewood High) who signed with LSU, in the state semi-finals. He basically went in dry for 4 quarters straight.

If we didn't drop a 2 point conversion in the 4th quarter we would've won.

It was a tough loss but Robert was a beast. He ran me over about 4 times, stepping directly on my chest on one occasion. Once when I was able to ride him to the ground like a bucking bronco he said "You small SOB" and I said "My mama ain't a bitch". He laughed.

Gene Jelks - yes, I am that old. Best high school running back I ever saw - he was that good. Had Larry Rose blocking for him too. Against us, he (with now defunct Emma Samson) had over 200 yards in the first half and never saw the rest of the game. I think they won by 40.

Marcus Dupree made me look stupid when I was a senior and he was a soph. Twice.

And in all honesty, the only two chances I thought I had a shot at him...

1. Brandon Jackson. Ran me over and fricked me up pretty badly.

2. Bryan Brown. Played QB in high school and smoked us 45-0.

3. Vashon Pearson. I actually tackled him for a loss. His only negative yard play that game.

4. Chris Kelly. Burnt out secondary for 3 TDs

Travis Stephens.

We won but our victory had little to do with me tackling him.

Preston Gothard -TE for bammer and the Steelers- taught me how to play Roverback one night in 1979, unfortunately I was supposed to be playing defensive end.

1. Tony Dixon (Pickens County HS > UA > Dallas Cowboys)

Dixon single handedly put my team out of the playoffs as we were running out the clock at the end of the game. He broke through the line, stripped the ball from our QB and carried it all the way to the other end zone besting our two field goals 7-6 on a cold and miserable rainy night in Reform, AL.

2. Carnel Williams (Etowah HS > AU > TB Buccs)

This guy was slow upstairs, but like lightning on the field. Very fast, elusive and hard to tackle. They beat us pretty badly mostly on his legs even though he was relatively young at the time.

3. Brodie Croyle (Westbrook HS > UA > KC Chiefs)

A young Brodie only managed to complete one pass during the first half in a game against us. It was an interception to me (a linebacker). We stomped them and won WQSB team of the week honors.

Ok those are my Polk High stories, Al Bundy mode off.

Played against Senquez Golson (Pascagoula Panthers) in football and baseball, faced Hawtin Buchanan when he pitched for Biloxi, played with Travis Dickson in football and baseball. Watched Kevin Norwood (D'Iberville) from the sideline my first year being on the team (playing JV, dressing Varsity), had to play scout team as a freshman against DeAndre Brown.

I only played soccer in high school, but I played against Clint Dempsey a few times between clubs teams and high school.
