The defense does seem a little off. But I think this is partially just a result of having a new prolific offense. Opposing offenses now get the ball more often, with less rest for our defense, and they are aggressively trying to score to keep pace. At quick glance, giving up 38 to vandy seems terrible. But, this game was over after Q1, the only question was would LSU cover the spread. So, this game was basically 3 quarters of garbage time football. And with all of the injuries that have been popping up, i dont think there was any need to do anything besides prevent D.

Didn’t realize a year later Georgia fans were still salty about that 36-16 embarrassment at the hands of LSU’s average offense.

Not sure you understand how defense works.
I mean Kyle seemed concerned that our defense is bad. That may be so, but I thought I'd mention that it might not matter if we play them this year.

If Joe put up 36 on them last year, imagine the possibilities this year.

Just going by pure stats, Missouri is leading the conference in both yards/game and yards/play. But they haven't played anyone, so I guess that's where SP+ comes in.

Still has influence from last year in it I'm pretty sure.

Michigan is going to drop like a rock as well once last years data is turned off.

It will be nice when LSUs starting defensive line plays in a few weeks, and Georgia continues to make fun of giving up points when they could only score 30 on Vandys high school defense.

Did you watch the game? LSU Defense DID NOT give up 38 points. There was a pick 6 by our back up QB and a fumble recovery in the end zone.

The metrics seem to think Florida is pretty good.

Michigan State has an elite D, it will take an elite QB or a team with big time speed on the perimeter to hurt them IMO.

LSU should be concerned along with Bama at what will happen against good competition after the injuries they’ve experienced.

LSU hasn’t been hit as badly, but they also didn’t have near the depth Bama did coming in. I don’t think either side can stop the other consistently this year.

Let's be honest. The most disturbing stat I have seen all year is an offense giving up 14 points to Vanderbilt. Backup QB or not, that is just bad.

lmao this is weak.

For a UGA team that is supposed to be trying to bring down Bama yall are sure worried about little ol LSU.

36-16

EDIT - We'll see yall in ATL for a home state arse whopping. It'll be a lot worse than 36-16.

Yeah, this one thread with actual facts sure does cancel out the dozens made by LSU fans with out any.

Until you have a game when the offense sputters.
