No smack talk but it amazes me how much talent the Cocks has had over the last few years and still can't come close to beating UCONN.

That's why they won that title last year, because they didn't have to play UCONN

UCONN talent is far more talented than the next program.

We had a UMBC moment, with all the media hype and attention, we had no chance to win the next game.

Is women's basketball that awful when it comes to elite talent? Seems like there is only a handful and UCONN gets those players.

Notre Dame, Lousiville and a couple others have teams stacked with talent as well, its not just them

But one major issue with South Carolina is the team is entirely dependent on Wilson and has no consistent outside shooters. Pretty predictable and easy to defend. When you face a team with just as much talent, they were bound to be kicked in the arse

At least with MSU you have multiple players who are threats to score at all time and not predictable

It is though

UConn could beat shitty pro WNBA teams. Every player on UConns team will get drafted. MSU had a fluke last year and both of us benefited from it. That’s all.

We lost 3 players to the WNBA from last year and we still got killed last year by UConn.

Yes they get the best talent, but people don't give enough credit to how good of a coach Geno Auriemma is. The best talent doesn't guarantee 90 and 111 game win streaks. There is another constant through all of those wins, and it's him.

State is just now bringing in top talent. Next year will be the first roster composed of primarily 5 stars. It will take a few years but I think Vic can start to close the gap if we can keep him.

People talk about talent and stuff but it takes incredible work to win over 100 in a row, plus they face a difficult OOC schedule every year

They play well as a team, they are really well coached. You may have to play pretty perfect to beat team but its certainly not impossible. ND and Texas played them really hard this year, very close as well.

I see a couple teams in WBB who have teams stacked with talent but drop games they shouldn't all the time. Texas is one of them easily as well as Tennessee

Exactly.....UT has 6 Mac D All-Americans and Warlick can't coach em a damn lick. Geno would have UT talent in the Final 4.

There is a lot of truth to this but it's also worth mentioning the enormous gap between the top few players every year and all the other 5 stars. The talent gap is way wider than most realize and it goes beyond the star ratings.

Congrats on your season South Carolina

It'll be a major challenge for anyone to knock them off but not entirely impossible

There are really only maybe 5 elite players a year coming out of high school in girl's basketball, and Geno is getting at least 3 of them every year. They aren't leaving school early like men's hoops, so that team is constantly loaded. Every year Geno has 10-12 of those great players on his team and all the other teams combined have like 6.

Yep, Uconn is a dynasty and top recruits flock there. Geno can cherry pick it's so bad lol.
