The Drew’s and scott’s wife are from Missouri, if uga has any chance, mizzou has an amazing chance.

Also i bet he’s using this for a raise like painter did us 5 years ago

Georgia is an underrated basketball job and a couple of SEC coaches anonymously said it’s a Top 3 job in the SEC.

Just because Atlanta is in Georgia means anyone wants to coach Georgia basketball. Georgia can't keep the Atlanta brothers in the state.

Yes but he still wouldn't survive with unrealistic expectations at Georgia.

Do what?

What "unrealistic expectations" are you talking about? Hell,UGA basketball fans would be doing backflips if the team got a NCAA invitation within his first 3 years. The job probably has less pressure than any job in the SEC

Good. He should milk a raise out of Baylor who likely would have won the last two natties if not for COVID.

I will preface this with he ain't taking the job.

However, the idea that we have unrealistic expectations is laughable. Crean isn't gone just because he didn't make the tournament. He's gone because he failed to build year over year, and instead lost essentially the *entire roster* to the transfer portal and wasn't able to adapt to the changing recruiting landscape. The team was still making the same ridiculously careless mistakes this year that they did in year 1. We never looked well coached at any point under his tenure.

I don't see a world in which Drew wants the job, but if some upside down world scenario happened and he actually wanted it, I don't think any UGA fan's early expectations are any different than they've ever been... let's try to make the tournament with some level of consistency and grow from there. If he was able to deliver 1 appearance every 3 years, we'd probably build him a damn statue.

Not holding my breath on him coming to Athens, but just think it's wild that people think a school starved for literally *any* success in basketball in the last 20ish years would have unrealistic expectations.

It’s about the money, he will get a raise to stay.

In basketball it's relatively easy to turn it around with the right coach. The perfect example is this year's regular season champs.

It takes time to turn a historically bad program to elite. Some of the coaching greats struggled building and with patience they turned it around. Georgia needs modest expectations first if they ever want to get out of the hole they are in.

You don't have to be elite to make the NCAA tournament, just one of the top 64 teams in the country. Georgia's expectations when it comes to basketball are as modest as they come. Just make the tournament...maybe a sweet 16 run on occasion.

In the last 25 years (before this year) much closer to mediocre than dumpster fire.
