Soooo....they're like pretty much any traditional culture up until a few decades ago? This reporter would be mystified by all the men on my dad's side of the family in Louisiana.
The men in your family were making decisions for adult males? Nico is 20 not 12.

As I posted above, it’s apparently still common today in Polynesian culture for kids to keep living in daddy’s household even after they are grown and married. Different world.

Point of the whole thing is an attempt to scrub some of the stench off NICO and Daddy, who were victimized by an out of control agent.
Entire article reads like bullshite and simply an attempt to make the player and Dad look clean

Agreed, it reads like fan fiction trying really really hard to sound super-journalistic.

Sounds like pops want money now because maybe he don't have confidence that his son will make it into the NFL.
Or dad has some massive debts that have yet come to light.

"Only an idiot would fall for the idea that this agent was doing it in a manner in which Nic was completely unaware."

An important point I would like everyone to take with this: this happens all the time with many players. These clowns just did it with zero tact and maximum stupidity.

Whatever the true story I hate NIL.

If true, I feel really bad for the kid.
I don't at all.
If Nico was any kind of a decent teammate, he tells dad, "hell no, I'm going to practice. Y'all work out the financial stuff, but I'm a Tennessee Vol, until I'm not. And my teammates are going to be out there working their asses off."

Reading all that, Nico needs to man up and tell his dad to stay out of his business.
Now his career has been ruined and he will be lucky to land at a G5 school. Nobody wants to deal with that mess

Hopefully little brother is the black sheep that doesn't listen to his dad. The last thing our football program needs is any kind of drama like this. Things are bad enough already.

I think tenner should pat him

Good. Let some other conference deal with this overrated giraffe.

That is some Mantii Teo shite right there.

Nobody buys this. Someone is trying to save face for the family. It’s not going to work.

My takeaway is frick Nico.

I smell Lincoln Riley's interest from here. USC has the budget to get this done and he's back home where he can major in snowflake.

Hopefully other schools will take note and stay away from this family. They will be nothing but internal trouble. I'm sure this is happening in many forms across the country. NIL needs serious regulations.
