This one appeared to be. Jury is still out on others. Time will tell. At any rate, he wanted to go to Ohio State first and foremost, so that may still be in play as well.

Crazy Kirby let him play as much as he did last year then.

I think he's going to be a stud. Physically, he's there.

Mentally and with effort, he has a ways to go.

I hope he does well every week but 1.
(He did struggle getting off blocks when you run at him, fyi. But as a true freshman, it isnt a shocker that college football has an adjustment period)

He played in 11 games and had 7 tackles in 277 snaps last year.

I am not normally one to say this, but he was passed up. Not only with returning players, but true Freshman Nolan Smith as well. He was not the best presence in the locker room and UGA did not try all that hard to stop him from transferring.

I was really hoping for him to turn the corner, but it seems more between the ears than anything else...

I'm sure you will laugh and say its sour grapes but that is what we're hearing.

All that may be true we still need the depth, maybe a change of scenery is what he needs.

Plenty of kids don't pan out. Some think Cox should have been in a different system as a 5 or 7 technique. He might have shined in a system like Alex Grinch's at Texas.

He is a stud athletically but must be a piece of work to get let go despite playing a lot as a true freshman.

Played in 11 games as a freshman and started the SEC championship game. Kirby thought he was totally overrated...(give me a break).

And of course UGA fans are saying he was getting passed by freshmen. UGA fans always think their freshmen are better than the guys before them. They love the shiny new toys with zero experience.

He didn't start the SECCG. D'andre Walker was healthy when the game started.

He did start in the Sugar Bowl. But in that game alone, he got passed by Azeez Ojulari (injured all season and got his first action against Texas. Azeez did great and basically took over the position and apparently hasn't given it up since). Rumor in camp is that Nolan smith and Jermain Johnson (both from the 2019 class) were outperforming in practice.

I'm not trying to be a dick or anything; I wish him well in his future endeavors. So, no sour grapes from me.

But...He does, as previously posted, have a ways to go in terms of growing up...between the ears, I mean. Physically, he has all the tools to be great.

Kirby played him a good bit because Kirby wanted to keep evaluating him, so to speak, as the 2019 starter in his position. It started to become clear that he was being surpassed on the depth chart. It happens. I don't think it was just one thing that got him bounced. Rather, it was several things...and an arrest was already a strike against him. His attitude issues were another. Finally, whatever happened the last time got him dismissed. There's plenty of rumors out there, from fighting with teammates in the locker room, to telling a coach to frick off in practice. We'll never know the real story right now, though.
