There was a school outside Lincoln that won the state championship in Nebraska HS football that had 11 seniors sign with Division I schools this year. 0 signed with Nebraska.

On3 has only two Nebraska HS kids as four stars this year. Iowa, Iowa State, and Kansas St look to be taking a lot of high school kids from Nebraska.

Here is revenue distribution data I pulled from ChatGPT that shows just how bad Nebraska’s six year junior membership crushed them…

Revenue distribution from Big Ten:

2011 - 14 million
2012 - 15 million
2013 - 15 million
2014 - 16.9 million
2015 - 19.44 million
2016 - 22 million

Total = 102.34 million

Compare that to the share Mizzou received as an equal member in the six years after joining the SEC in 2012…

Revenue distribution from the SEC:

2012 - 20.7 million
2013 - 20.9 million
2014 - 31.1 million
2015 - 40.4 million
2016 - 40.9 million
2017 - 43.1 million

Total - 197.1 million

Mizzou out earned Nebraska by 94.76 million dollars over the first six years in their new conferences.

That shows you just how devastating junior membership in the Big Ten was to Nebraska.

It is funny.... these Mizzou guys are saying OU was only good because they cheated and that OU had some sort of "in" with the NCAA.

And just like you mentioned at Bama... the OU people thought the NCAA was out to get them. Walter Byers was OU's biggest enemy and was obsessed with bringing OU down was what you would hear.

I’ve never thought or said that.

Oklahoma was very good but they were routinely helped by Switzer’s unethical behavior.

Rhule as a coaching candidate

Nobody can be this stupid?

Now granted, I hate Matt Rhule, the man has no shame and is an unrepentant liar.

Under Rhule’s leadership his program lost 37 scholarship players to the transfer portal after last season and the vaunted Red machine had a whopping 2 players drafted in the 2025 NFL draft. This after having 0 players drafted in 2024 and 2 in 2023.

The move to the B1G was the end for them. Everyone saw it coming but Nebraska fans.

Meh, we had already stated falling off prior to the move to the B1G.

Also in our Big 8 heyday, we did not have a continual heavy pipeline of players from TX (a la Oklahoma) that made up a significant portion of team roster every year. Pre-Big XII rosters are out there for anyone to see.

Our biggest problems post-Osborne have been:

1) Bill Callahan
2) Mike Reilly
3) Scott Frost
4) Foregoing a physical, smash-mouth philosophy in favor of West Coast, pro-style, pass-heavy offenses and bend-don’t-break defenses.
5) Emphasis on skill position players instead of big uglies along the lines.

Old Nebraska would’ve never been out-physicaled-pushed around by ANYONE.

Now, we are routinely pushed-around by everyone.

You have to be impressed with Virginia Tech: pulled off a ranking of 25 with Franklin only in place a few weeks

didn't he grab a bunch of players that were committed to him at Penn State?

Very true. Both our programs have done a pretty shitty job of hiring coaches recently.

I’ve been to the University of Nebraska.

Was there for two weeks. There is nothing there. The most boring place ever.

And the women are big. German heritage I was told. Big as in large frames and taller. Not skinny but not Louisiana fat.

My God, look at Penn State. When those bastions of football greatness, Monmouth and South Dakota St have greater recruiting classes than you, you might as well write off the next 3 or 4 years.

The bottom 4 classes in the Big Ten were Wisconsin, UCLA, Nebraska, and Penn State. College football has changed.

I'd love to hear more about these special rules and privileges you think schools get for having the label blue blood.
they don't so much now, but back in the pretend amateur days the blue bloods in FB and BB were the schools with the money and clout to make the NCAA look the other way. If things got bad enough non blue blood would take the fall.

it's the reason Mizzou got a one-year postseason ban for football, baseball, and softball scholarship reductions, and recruiting limits for self reporting one rogue tutor taking a test for one athlete but North Carolina got no penalties for running fake classes with fake grades and credit for a number of their athletes.

Blue Bloods paid players and ran PED programs with impunity

Don't pretend you don't know this

Alabama had to vacate almost an entire year because a player signed a napkin with an agent while drinking after a national championship game for like $400 and then changed his mind.

So where was the whipping boy for that one?

That’s insane and I’m sorry to hear that happened. The selective enforcement pre NIL was ridiculous.

Because they were so roided up, an elephant couldn’t push them around. Osborne was a cheating scumbag.
