I can't believe all the pussy Ags that don't want to play the sips anymore. We LIVE for beating the shite out of tu. It would be even that much better now. I'd LOVE for them to "have" to play us! This game would be a huge advantage for us, just as it is for USC, UGA, and UF.
I'm glad TAMU's official stance on this is "anytime, anywhere."

I am fine with any time any where ... but I don't want it forced by legislature. If they want to play us they know where we are.

Dont sleep on this...UF was forced by politicians to play the girls school annually back in 1950s. It was not taken kindly by UF folks...the girls school (fsu) was the Florida State College for Women til 1947 and players at UF had moms who went to the school. The girls school was joke back then (hmmmm still is come to think of it) and played a schedule full of Woffords, Univ of Tampa, Memphis St etc etc.

This has been my college football year.
1. Joined the SEC. I got to experience three games in person I absolutely loved. Florida, LSU, and Ole Miss.
2. Beat Bama.
3. Saw my quarterback win the Heisman.
4. Saw my team win the Cotton Bowl, bitch slapping Oklahoma in the process
5. Saw my University become the talk of the state.
6. Not once was any part of my season dictated by the success of failure of that school in Austin.
I'll never acknowledge the common accusation that A&M is tu's little brother. When they stand side by side, A&M blows tu out of the water. I will admit that by outside forces, as well as intrnal forces, a constant state of dick measuring was expected out of us, but never them. My Sooner relatives always compared A&M to tu. It was as if that was the only way we were viewed by outsiders. But the reverse was never expected out of them. That has been eliminated. That complex is gone. And the heights A&M can reach as an institution and a brand will not be with tu holding us back. Seriously. They will hold us back. Maybe one day, but not until this SEC thing is well established.

Ryan Guillen, a democrat from House District 31, filed a bill Monday that would require the Longhorns and Aggies to play each year.
It would be a Democrap trying to pass more stupid laws/bills onto us.

In which aspect does a&m blow texas "out of the water?"

horrible.
Those people who "serve" in the legislature should concentrate on what matters. And as a hint to them, it's not a football game.

I want them in the rear view until Aggie's like yourself can let it go or make up a small minority of the fan base.

Florida certainly would be better off with FSU in their rear view mirror, and not playing them, correct? Same with Georgia and not playing GT? How about USC and not playing Clemson?
So you are saying that being in the SEC and still playing our biggest rival OOC is bad?
Whatever!

None of those teams "live" for playing/beating the other. It doesn't define them, as you would have this game define us.
With everything we have that's going right, you are exactly what's wrong with A&M.

Aggie Network, culture, values, atmosphere, tradition, solidarity.
No flame, but did you go to tu? Have you gone out in the workforce?

no -- they spend most of their time getting reach-arounds from special-interest groups, bickering over water rights, and tanking our education and health care systems.
This was just a little diversion. I'd expect a whole lot more of it, though, as we apparently set a new record for freshman legislators this session. They're all going after the ink now.
"Hey -- I got my name on a bill!"

They need the game far more than we do.

Then why is it an Aggie who is filing the legislation?
And two other aggies threatened to file legislation, but got beat to the punch by another aggie.
quote:
State Sen. Tommy Williams (aggie), R-The Woodlands, said he will file legislation during the 83rd session of the Texas Legislature in 2013 to instruct both Texas A&M and UT to continue their longstanding Thanksgiving football game.
Rep. John Otto (aggie), R-Dayton, will sponsor the legislation in the Texas House, according to a press release from Williams' office.

Guillen, is an Ag but he is also from Rio Grande City. One of the few areas a democrat could get elected in Texas.
For a better view of Star County (Rio Grande City), check out Border Wars on TV. The biggest business is "cash" driven. ie they are in the import/export business. It is one of the poorest areas in the state but there are many huge mansions and lots of body guards.

I wish Texas and A&M would play each other. It's a great game/rivalry and the sport is better off with it. That said, if the schools don't want to play each other, they aren't going to play. I'm sure they control plenty of the legislature between them.
